Hospital plans healthy heart event

  • February 19, 2013

Canonsburg General Hospital will hold “Go Red Washington County” from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 28 at the hospital and the Outpatient Care Center in Peters Township.

Activities will include cholesterol screenings, blood pressure readings, foot screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations by Giant Eagle and The Market District, performances and tips by exercise professionals, nutrition counseling, chair massages and mini-manicures.

WTAE-TV anchor Sally Wiggin will be on hand at Canonsburg General Hospital to share with guests her personal experiences with heart health.

At 6 p.m., a brief panel discussion will address the major heart health issues: nutrition, exercise, stress management, regular check-ups and “knowing your numbers.” Demonstrations by ambulance technicians and Life Flight crews are expected.

The event and parking are free.
