Flenniken to offer help in homework

CARMICHAELS – Homework help for students in kindergarten through high school is offered at Flenniken Public Library, 102 E. George St., Carmichaels. The program is staffed by students from Waynesburg University and is available from 4:15 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Families may make appointments or just stop by for help in any subject. The library’s service area includes Carmichaels Area School District, Southeastern Greene School District and the borough of Rices Landing, but the homework help program is open to students from any school.

For more information, call Flenniken Public Library at 724-966-5263. Library hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Basic literacy is one of the five areas that are identified by Pennsylvania’s PA Forward initiative as core library services. Flenniken Public Library is pleased to provide this homework-help service as a stepping stone to students’ success in school, and in their lives as productive members of society.
