SPRINGDALE (AP) – A Pittsburgh-area man accused of throwing perfume on his girlfriend and setting her on fire has been arrested.

Police tell the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette hat 27-year-old Clinton C. Cohen of Wilkinsburg was arrested Saturday afternoon.

A criminal complaint says Cohen got into a fight with 22-year-old Maria Redman Thursday morning at a Springdale apartment. Redman says Cohen punched her, then doused her with perfume and pulled out a cigarette lighter.

Redman suffered second-degree burns over 30 percent of her body. She’s in critical but stable condition.

The couple’s 3-month-old daughter was in the room during the attack but was unarmed. Redman’s parents are caring for her.

Cohen faces numerous charges, including attempted homicide aggravated assault, arson and risking catastrophe. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
