God loathes gay marriage

  • March 9, 2013

In your editorial “The Right Step for Republicans,” in the March 3 edition of the Observer-Reporter, you endorsed the views of some who support same-sex marriages. You and many others do not seem to understand or care that God does not approve of same-sex marriage.

The Bible says in Leviticus 18:22, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is abomination.” And in Leviticus 18:30, “Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that you commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the Lord your God.”

Webster’s Dictionary defines the word “abominable” as meaning: nasty, disgusting, vile, loathsome and very bad. As a Bible-believing Christian, I cannot and will not support any political party or candidate who endorses what God loathes.

You also stated that those who support same-sex marriages are actually reinforcing family values. I’m not sure what you mean by that. Every child who has ever been born was conceived out of the sexual union of a man and a woman – not two men or two women. Every child needs to be born into a home where its “parents” are a man and a woman who love each other, are committed to each other for life, and who will love and nurture the child during its formative years. Any man who is a real man makes a poor mother, and any woman who is a real lady makes a poor father. That’s why it is so hard for single parents to raise a child by themselves.
