Police beat March 14
Window smashed: Theodore T. Zborowski of 275 Johnston Road, Bentleyville, told state police Saturday vandals broke out the window of his pickup truck.
Officer, driver injured: A Canonsburg police oficer and another driver were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on North Central Avenue at East Water Street.Police said Detective Al Coghill was stopped on North Central with his turn signal on to go right on East Water. He had stopped for another vehicle when his unmarked cruiser was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Paul M. Colton, 76, of 310 E. Grant St., Houston. Both men were taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment.
One-vehicle crash: Andrew P. Leslie, 23, of Pittsburgh, was injured Monday when his pickup truck went off Pittsburgh Road, Fallowfield, and hit a tree. He was taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital for treatment.
Items stolen: A 14-year-old girl told the resource officer at Peters Township High School her iPod was stolen from an unknown location, along with a ring and earrings from the bedroom of her house on Thompsonville Road, township police said. The thefts were reported at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Money stolen: An employee of the McMurray Dairy Bar said between 7 a.m. and 2:46 p.m. Tuesday, a bank envelope was removed from her purse, township police said. The envelope contained her driver’s license and $870 in cash.
Two injured: Tonie L. Staffen, 20, of Elizabeth, and Joseph W. Donovan, 41, of New Eagle, were injured Thursday when their vehicles collided on Courtney Hill Road, Union, state police said. Both were taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment. Staffen was cited for failure to stay in her lane of travel.
