Former coal miner was WWII veteran
Frank Lipsky, 92, of Carmichaels, died Friday, March 15, 2013.
He was born February 7, 1921, in Vestaburg, a son of the late John and Helen Lipsky.
Mr. Lipsky had served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
After military service, he worked as a coal miner at J&L Steel’s Vesta 5 coal mine.
He lived most of his life in the Clarksville area and the last 14 years in Carmichaels.
On October 14, 1949, he married Irene Parker, who died October 24, 1988.
Mr. Lipsky was an avid fisherman who enjoyed any type of fishing.
Surviving are a daughter, Patty Blaker and husband Cecil Anderson of Claysville; two grandchildren, Rick Blaker and wife Denice of Carmichaels and Tracy Ozohonish and husband Jim of Clarksville; four great-grandchildren, Emily and Abby Ozohonish and Hillary and Jacob Blaker; a sister, Ann Basey; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, John and Mike Lipsky, and a sister, Sophie Messar.
Private services are under the direction of the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be expressed at www.behm-funeralhomes.com.
