David Edward Cavasinni
David Edward Cavasinni, 60, of Vero Beach, Fla., passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, after being diagnosed with a progressive brain disease.
He was born March 1, 1953, in Canonsburg. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for 28 years, coming from McMurray.
Mr. Cavasinni recently retired from teaching in St. Lucie County School District after 20 years. He was the teacher for the kids, and often opposed the strategies of the administration.
The highlights of his life were his two sons, Steelers football, jazz records and, most of all, his Peters Township High School football team, Class of 1971, in McMurray.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Amy Cavasinni; sons David B. and Devin Cavasinni; and sister Barbara (Cavasinni) Flynn of Potomac, Md.
Deceased are his parents, Frank “Jiggs” and Kathryn Cavasinni.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, in First Christian Church Social Hall, 1927 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL. A memorial will be held in the Pittsburgh area at a later date. Memorial donations for the research of Multiple System Atrophy may be made to The Mayo Clinic at 4500 San Pablo Road, Jacksonville, FL 32224.
