A native of Washington, she was born August 30, 1920, a daughter of Curtis and Julia Aulency Burns.
She graduated from Washington Hospital School of Nursing in 1942 as a registered nurse. In November of that year, she married Dr. Donald E. Wonsettler, prior to his deployment with the U.S. Medical Corps to Southeast Asia. On his return in 1946, they moved to Grove City, where he set up his medical practice.
Mrs. Wonsettler was active in local community affairs, serving on the boards of the Visiting Nurses Association, the former Grove City Hospital Auxiliary and Women’s Club and as a volunteer at the American Red Cross Blood Bank and Blood Pressure Clinics.
She was a member of Grove City Country Club Ladies Golf Association for more than 50 years and enjoyed her Tuesdays and Thursdays spent on the course with friends. She also was active in several bridge groups.
Mrs. Wonsettler was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Sue Conaty and husband Bill of Florida and New Hampshire; granddaughters Kelly Conaty and Kimberly Hollely and husband David, both of New York; daughter-in-law Pamm Wonsettler of Wisconsin; and grandaughter Amy Snrka and husband Ryan and their daughter Maylin, also of Wisconsin.
Deceased are her husband, Donald; son Thomas; and grandson Nathan Wonsettler.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, in the chapel at Grace United Methodist Church, 210 South Broad Street, Grove City, with the Rev. Willard Morse presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a favorite charity.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., Grove City.
