: Police beat March 23

Citations issued: Several people were cited as a result of a party March 9 at 522 Second St., California police said. Darnell Harding, 22, of McKeesport, allegedly caused a disturbance as police tried to investigate. He was removed and placed in the back of a police car. Cody Schroeder, 19, of Avon, Ohio, also caused a disturbance, was removed and placed in a cruiser, police said. They were charged with disorderly conduct and violating the borough’s disorderly house ordinance. Eighteen others at the party also were cited under the borough ordinance.


Copper stolen: Chartiers police said copper grounding wire was reported stolen Wednesday from three utility poles on Forrest Avenue.


Retail theft charge: Malachi C. Simmons, 40, also known as Marcell Jones, of 105 Church St., Washington, was charged Friday by Washington police with misdemeanor retail theft. He is accused of putting steak and lobster under his jacket and then trying to leave Shop 'N Save, 125 W. Beau St.

Items stolen: Washington police said toiletries and a flower arrangement were stolen from the women’s restroom at Washington Neurological, 1050 Jefferson Ave., Thursday. An employee told police that a white woman in her 40s, wearing a red hat and black jacket, asked twice to use the restroom. When the employee checked after she left the second time, the items were gone.

Windows shot: JoAnn Piatt of 739 Fayette St. told Washington police Thursday that vandals shot out eight windows on her garage.
