Margarette Ann Buber Hausher
Margarette Ann Buber Hausher, 83, of (Malden) Brownsville, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 23, 2013, in UPMC-Montefiore hospital, Pittsburgh, with her loving family at her side.
She was born January 24, 1930, a daughter of the late George and Mary Hritz Buber.
On September 16, 1951, in St. Nicholas Church, Brownsville, she married Howard Leonard Hausher, who survives.
Mrs. Hausher graduated from East Bethlehem High School with the Class of 1948, of which she was valedictorian. She continued her education at California State College and subsequently earned both a bachelor of science degree and master’s degree in education. She taught for 26 years at the middle school and high school for Bethlehem-Center School District, prior to her retirement.
Mrs. Hausher was an unassuming lady who loved flowers, especially orchids, gardening and traveling with her husband. She was a lifelong learner and a strong believer in family. She was a caregiver and took care of many family members during her lifetime. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her two granddaughters, of whom she was very proud.
Mrs. Hausher was Catholic and a member of St. Michael’s Church of St. Oliver Plunkett Parish.
Surviving and well-loved are her husband, Dr. Howard Leonard Hausher; daughter Georgiann (Jack) McLellan; granddaughters Erin (Matthew) Lavigne and Kate (Nathan) McLellan-Benedict; a great-granddaughter, Evelyn Margarette Lavigne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, deceased are a sister, Helen Newport; sisters-in-law Helen Segeda and husband Tony, Frances Pagac and husband Frank, Ann Mullen and husband Bill and Josephine Lemonovich and husband Joseph; and brother-in-law Dominic Hausher and wife Ann.
Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Frank Burkus Funeral Home, 26 Mill Street, Millsboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, in St. Michael’s Church, Fredericktown, with Father Paul Grunebach officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Cemetery, Briar Hill. A parish vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.
