CHARLEROI – A Monessen man and another from Clairton are in custody after Charleroi Regional police found an array of drugs in a borough house the two were visiting early Wednesday.

Police arrested Zachary Lawson, 27, of 1017 Knox Ave., Monessen, and Steven DeVaughn Burrow, 21, of 565 Read St., Clairton, after being given permission to enter 908 Prospect Ave., where they found marijuana, crack, cocaine and heroin, court records show.

Police knocked on the door to the house about 12:20 a.m. after a woman, whom they did not identify, had purchased $20 worth of crack there, the affidavit indicates.

The resident, Barbara Davis, answered the door and allowed police inside after they heard sounds of people running throughout the rooms, the record shows

Police said they initially found six bundled stamp bags of heroin in a bathroom toilet tank, near a warm measuring glass containing cocaine. Police said they discovered a bag of marijuana and more cocaine and drug processing materials on the kitchen table. Police said they also seized $333 from Lawson and $202 from Burrow.

Lawson and Burrow are each charged with drug possession, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia, the record shows.

They are in the Washington County jail on $50,000 bonds set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
