Man jailed: John Romantino, 49, of 611 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with a felony count of retail theft over accusations he stole two packages of socks worth $10 from a Dollar General at 514 Fallowfield Ave. about 11 a.m. Tuesday, court records show. He is in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Tavern faces citation: The operators of Lenharts Tavern, 90 N. Route 88, Charleroi, face a charge of selling or furnishing alcohol to minors stemming from a Feb. 13 incident, the state Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported.
Driver charged: Brenton Allen Dillion, 28, of Sturgeon, was charged Wednesday by McDonald police with possession of drug paraphernalia, having an open container of beer and not having insurance stemming from a Jan. 20 traffic stop on south McDonald Street. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Valarie Costanzo.
One injured: A Perryopolis woman, Kimberly D. Domonkos, was transported to Monongahela Valley Hospital complaining of a bump on her head following a two-vehicle accident at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday, township police said. Domonkos, no age listed, of 380 Cemetery Road, was attempting to make a left turn from a gasoline station just north of the northern intersection of Old Oak Road to head north on Washington Road, police said. Her vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle on Washington Road operated by Amanda Bostjancic, no age given, of 105 Center Church Road, McMurray, police said. Bostjancic was not injured.
DVDs stolen: A large quantity of DVDs and Blu-ray discs were discovered missing from the Giant Eagle, 4007 Washington Road, McMurray, township police said. The missing discs are valued at $3,170 and were reported stolen at 2:49 p.m. Tuesday.
Underage drinking party: Township police said they discovered an underage drinking party at 1 a.m. Saturday on Coal Pitt Road. The party resulted in seven counts of trespassing, two counts of underage drinking and three counts of disorderly conduct.
Man charged: A Finleyville man, Anthony Farace, 50, was charged following an accident that occurred at 12:50 p.m. Sunday while he was driving another person’s vehicle on Boyce Road, township police said. Farace was charged with providing false identification to police, driving on a suspended license, careless driving and driving without insurance, police said.
Theft arrest: Victoria Marie Bryer, 24, of 1165 Sycamore St., Washington, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by South Strabane police after she allegedly stole plumbing, hardware and weed trimmer string from Lowe’s, Strabane Square. A loss-prevention officer told police Bryer put the items valued at $212.86 in her large purse and left the store. Bryer allegedly told police she and her boyfriend planned to return the items for gift cards that they would then exchange for heroin. She was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins on a charge of retail theft and placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Escapes injury: Tyler Gross, 20, of 9 Cara Drive, Washington, escaped injury when he crashed his pickup truck on Sanitarium Road near Braddock Road Monday afternoon, South Strabane police said. Police said his truck slid off the road, striking an embankment, tree, fence and mailbox.
Debit card stolen: Cheryn Isbell, who told Washington police she is homeless, reported her pre-loaded debit card worth between $300 and $400 was stolen while she was staying at 144 Church St. early Wednesday.
Garage damaged: Mia Johnson of 152 Hall Ave. told Washington police Wednesday windows on her garage were damaged. Police have a suspect.
Telephone line cut: Katherine Hetrick of 520 Broad St. told Washington police Tuesday vandals cut her telephone line.
