Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges. Appearing before visiting Allegheny County Judge Edward Borkowski were:


Michael L. Villers, 51, of 384 Tyler Ave., Washington; second offense of driving under the influence of alcohol; charged Oct. 4 following a traffic stop on Weirich Avenue, Washington, with a blood-alcohol content of 0.084 percent and positive for controlled substances; sentenced – 30 days to 6 months on home monitoring, $300 fine, 12-month license suspension.


David A. Royer, 33, of 2018 E. Finley Drive, Claysville; second offense of DUI, driving with a suspended license; charged April 3, 2012, following a traffic stop on Four Coins Drive, Canonsburg; sentence – 8 to 23 months on home monitoring, $2,000 fine, 18-month license suspension.


Carolyn S. Ritchey, 65, of 395 McKee Road, Washington; first offense of DUI; charged Sept. 8, after hitting a security guard with her vehicle in The Meadows Casino parking lot with a 0.161 BAC; sentence – 10 days to 6 months on home monitoring, $500 fine, 12-month license suspension.


Michael J. Plachta, 31, of 2277 Sandy Plains Road, Clarksville; second offense of DUI and driving with a suspended license; charged July 28 following a traffic stop on Front Street, East Bethlehem Township, with a 0.193 BAC; sentence – 6 to 23 months on home monitoring with work release, with the first 3 months to be served on SCRAM, and then another 90 days on home monitoring to be served consecutively, $2,500 fine, 18-month license suspension.


Robert C. Paholsky, 42, of 175 Humphries Lane, Fayette City; second offense of DUI; charged Aug. 20 following a traffic stop in the 400 block of Thompson Ave., Donora, with a 0.242 BAC; sentence – 6 to 23 months of home monitoring with work release, with the first 3 months on SCRAM, $1,500 fine, 18-month license suspension.


Appearing before Judge John DiSalle were:


Mark A. Hutchins, 33, of 60 Mark Ave., Washington; ARD revoked and first offense of DUI; charged Oct. 15, 2011, following a traffic stop in the 400 block of Jefferson Ave., Washington, with a 0.147 BAC, and charged April 7, 2012, following a hit-and-run motorcycle accident at the intersection of View and Latimer avenues, North Strabane Township, with a 0.201 BAC; sentence – 6 to 18 months home monitoring, with the first 92 days on SCRAM, $2,000 fine, 12-month license suspension.


Daniel T. Kosharsky, 27, of 217 Wylie Ave., Houston; harassment; charged Oct. 31, 2011, at 14 Lincoln St., Apt. 1, Bulger, for striking his fiancee in the face and head; sentence – $10 fine, continue with anger management program.


Tina Martin, 52, of 321 Washington Ave., Charleroi; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Aug. 2 while a resident of the Davenport Home, 321 Washington Ave., Charleroi; sentence – 6 months of probation.


James J. Kinder, 57, of 48 Creek Lane Road, Burgettstown; second offense of DUI, driving with a suspended license; charged during a traffic stop Aug. 8 on Langeloth Road, Smith Township, with a 0.10 BAC; sentence – $895 fine, 10 days to 6 months on electronic home monitoring with the first 10 days on SCRAM-X, 12-month license suspension.


Richard T. Sulitz, 39, of 578 Highland Ave., Charleroi; possession with intent to deliver; sold drugs to an informant on May 3, 6, 7, 16 and June 28 in the parking lot area of Monongahela Aquatorium, Railroad and Second streets, Monongahela; sentence – 6 to 12 months in jail and forfeit funds seized.


Anastos M. Makripodis, 29, of 17 McClain Ave., Washington; harassment; charged Oct. 11 after physically harming his girlfriend at his residence; sentence – 12 months of probation and anger management classes.


Stephen J. Bayless, 61, of 35 Tunnel St., West Alexander; second offense of DUI; charged July 8 during a traffic stop on Wylie Avenue, Washington, with a 0.141 BAC; sentence – 6 months in the Intermediate Punishment Program with the first 60 days on electronic home monitoring and first 30 days on SCRAM-X, $750 fine, 12-month license suspension.


Blake M. Edwards, 23, of 703 Laurel Ridge Way, Woodstock, Ga.; second offense of DUI; charged July 5 during a traffic stop at 3423 Route 40 West near Mounts Road, South Franklin Township, with a 0.116 BAC; sentence – 5 days to 6 months in jail, $300 fine, 12-month license suspension.


Gerald A. Gregg, 48, of 670 Cleveland Road, Washington; second offense of DUI; charged Dec. 8 following a one-vehicle crash on Old Steubenville Pike, Hanover Township; refused breath testing; sentence – 90 days to 18 months in jail, $1,500 fine, 18-month license suspension.


Joshua D. Thomson, 30, of 432 Scott Lane, Venetia; receiving stolen property, 10 counts of theft from a motor vehicle, access device issued to another who did not authorize use; charged July 3 for taking items valued at $21,675 from the Unger residence, 177 North Spring Valley Road Extension, North Strabane Township, and Oct. 24 and 28, 2011, for taking items valued at $4,145, including a handgun, from vehicles in the Foxchase housing development in North Strabane Township; sentence – 23 months in the Intermediate Punishment Program with the first 3 months on electronic home monitoring, ordered to pay $21,508 in restitution with further restitution to be determined.


Patricia A. Jones, 37, of 1 Grove St., Washington; first offense of DUI, driving with a suspended license; charged May 10 during a traffic stop in South Strabane Township, with chemical test indicating defendant was under the influence of a controlled substance; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,000 fine, 12-month license suspension.


Peter W. Borsos, 21, of 96 Beech St., Muse; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Aug. 23 during a traffic stop on Muse Bishop Road, Cecil Township; placed in the probation without verdict program for 12 months.


Ashley T. Coulson, 23, of 111 State St., Charleroi; delivery of heroin; charged Sept. 26 after selling heroin to an informant in Charleroi Borough; sentence – 6 to 23 months in jail with credit for time served and may serve remainder on home monitoring with work release.


Elizabeth Faloskey, 37, of 505 Old West Road, Bentleyville; endangering the welfare of children; charged on June 4 after being found intoxicated in bed by an officer after her children, ages 5 and 7, were locked outside their residence upon returning home from school; sentence – 24 months of probation and parenting classes.


Leslie Dixon, 35, of 31 E. Hallam Ave., Washington; access device fraud; charged March 22, 2012, after after stealing the victim’s wallet from his home and using his credit card at CVS in Washington, charging $209, and at Cigarette City, Jefferson Avenue, Washington, charging $61; sentence – 12 months of probation on intensive supervision, restitution to be determined, continue treatment.


Scott E. Samstag, 39, of 44 Enterprise Road, Titusville; aggravated assault; charged July 27 at 210 E. Barr St., McDonald, after chocking his wife and her almost passing out; sentence – 9 to 23 monhts in jail with credit for time served, anger management classes, and no contact with the victim.


David A. Piatt, 49, of 1283 Wierich Ave., Washington; possession with intent to deliver; charged Feb. 21, 2012, for selling crack to an informant in Washington; sentence – 6 to 23 months in jail.


Phillips O. Babasola, 46, of 1911 W. Chestnut St., Apt. 4, Washington; DUI, driving with a suspended license; charged July 8 during a traffic stop in South Strabane Township, with the first breath sample testing positive for alcohol and refusing the second test; sentence – 23 months in the Intermediate Punishment Program with the first 6 months on home monitoring and first 3 months on SCRAM-X, 18-month license suspension, $1,500 fine.


Shane J. Conner, 28, of 485 Rankin Road, Washington; DUI; charged July 12 following a traffic stop on Franklin Farms Road, North Franklin Township, with a 0.180 BAC; sentence – 23 months in the Restrictive Intermediate Punishment Program, with the first year on home monitoring, 18-month license suspension, $2,500 fine.


Appearing before Judge Katherine Emery were:


Donna Hoefler, 55, of 146 McConnells Mills Road, Washington; theft; charged after residents of the Beau Regency Complex, South Strabane Township, reported thefts of jewelry and money in June and August 2011, where she was a cleaning person; sentence – 7 years of probation, $50,596 in restitution.


Gregory T. Terrell, 21, of 440 Duncan Ave., Washington; possession of a controlled substance; charged during a traffic stop on July 7 on Interstate 79, North Strabane Township; sentence – 6 months of probation.


Charles T. Doyle, 52, of 128 Armour St., Richeyville; charges of simple assault and harrassment were dismissed.


Aaron E. Jackson, 20, of 616 Division St., Monessen; possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct; charged Sept. 16 while law enforcement were responding to a fight at Third and Wood streets, California Borough; sentence – 12 months of probation and $200 fine.


Matthew T. Gross, 22. of 17 Loffert Road, McDonald; two counts of burglary; charged May 8 and June 6 for taking two pistols, jewelry, a coin collection and money from 3 Bowen Road, McDonald; sentence – 24 months in the state Intermediate Punishment Program and ordered to pay $4,080 in restitution.


Michael J. Traficante, 46, of 116 Hoover Lane, McMurray; first offense of DUI and accidents involving damage to attended vehicle; charged March 18, 2012, while police were responding to a call at 57 Naser Ave., South Strabane Township, that he was going to shoot himself, with a 0.14 BAC and a detection of cocaine, and Oct. 28 for causing a two-vehicle crash on Route 19, near Weavertown Road, North Strabane Township; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, 6 months probation, $1,000 fine, 12-month license suspension.


Jan E. Altamare II, 36, of 372 Pennsylvania Ave., Charleroi; unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving while operating privleges suspended; charged Sept. 28 after fighting with his fiance in the parking lot of Bob’s Tavern, Finleyville, and taking her car without permission; sentence – 12 months of probation, $200 fine.


Michael K. Tharp, 29, of 296 Cecil Henderson Road, Canonsburg; burglary; charged June 17 for stealing items from 243 Key Ave., Canonsburg; sentence – 23 months in the RIP Program, 100 hours community service, $100 restitution.


David A. Markish, 21, of 31 Second Ave., Atlasburg; first offense of DUI; charged following a traffic stop Oct. 26 at Noblestown Road at Technology Drive, Midway Borough, with a 0.037 BAC; sentence – 3 days to 6 months jail, $500 fine, 12-month license suspension, 25 hours community service.


Richard C. Blackmore, 30, of 29211 Legends Green Drive, Spring, Texas; second offense of DUI; charged following a one-vehicle crash Feb. 29, 2012, at 255 Sienna Trail, Venetia, with a 0.201 BAC; sentence – 90 days to 18 months probation, 18-month license suspension, $1,500 fine, $1,250 restitution.


Richard H. Lawry Jr., 25, of 2007 Beallsville Road, Marianna; second offense of DUI; charged Aug. 13 following a two-vehicle accident at Main and Maiden streets, Washington, with a 0.267 BAC; sentence – 90 days to 18 months probation with 90 days on home monotiring consecutive to probation, 18-month license suspension, $1,500 fine.


Craig A. Falcon, 59, of Beech Bottom, W.Va.; second offense of general impairment; charged April 28 during a traffice stop on Jefferson Avenue at Wylie Avenue, Washington, for driving under the influence of drugs; sentence – 5 days in jail, $300 fine, 12-month license suspension.


Clarence P. Belliveau, 31, of 4621 Royal Ave., Coraopolis; defiant trespass, simple assault; charged May 19 for forcably entering the victim’s home at 320 E. Lincoln Ave., Apt. 1A Rear, McDonald Borough, and assaulting him on May 18; sentence – 12 months of probation, $550 restitution, and no contact with the victim.


Ashley N. Sadler, 20, of 60 Bel Air Drive, Apt. C, Washington; simple possession; charged Feb. 4, 2012, during a traffic stop on Jefferson Avenue at Hall Avenue, Washington; placed in the Probation Without Verdict program.


Kathleen G. Stephens, 44, of 786 Weirich Ave., Washington; DUI, criminal mischief; charged March 19, 2012, after driving a vehicle into Friendship Community Church, Weirich Avenue at Prigg Road, Canton Township, with a BAC of 0.29 percent; sentence – 12 months probation, 60-day license suspension.


Gwendolyn Layhue, 37, of 213 Fifth St., Charleroi; disorderly conduct, furnishing drug-free urine; charged Sept. 13 after setting a bathroom on fire at the Myford Hotel, Charleroi, and attempting to provide drug-free urine out of a prescription pill bottle she had on her person at the Donora police station; sentence – 12 months of probation.


Charles Park, 50, of 448 N. Main St., Apt. 10, Washington; delivery of a controlled substance; charged Aug. 27 after selling heroin to an informant in Canonsburg.


Melvin D. Manes, 60, of 595 Maple Ave., Apt. 2, Washington; driving with a suspended license; charged Feb. 4, 2012, during a traffic stop; sentence – of 30 days to 6 months probation, $500 fine.


Kenneth Serrano, 49, of 1710 Main St., Apt. 102, Pittsburgh; simple assault; charged Oct. 6 for punching and throwing his girlfriend at 422 Fallowfield Ave., Apt. 1, Charleroi, with the victim later taken to Allegheny General Hospital; sentence – 6 to 23 months probation, anger management classes, no contact with victim.


Scott A. Gill, 23, of 48 Manor Drive, Bulger; forgery, theft; charged for stealing and cashing 13 checks, from June 25 to Aug. 27, from his employer, 1 All Pro Roofing; sentence – 4 to 23 months of probation and ordered to pay $5,401 in restitution.


Stacy Stelma, 39, of 45 Mowery Lane, Fredericktown; delivery of a controlled substance; charged Sept. 5 during a controlled buy in Fredericktown; sentence – 3 to 23 months of probation with the first 3 months on home monitoring.


Jamie I. Santiago, 29, of 510 Washington Ave., Charleroi; criminal mischief, disorderly conduct; charged June 12 for fighting with another female in a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Washington Avenue, Charleroi; sentence – $300 fine.


Guy M. Gump, 29, of 37 Main St., Shinston, W.Va.; second offense of DUI; charged Jan. 9, 2012, following a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 southbound, 1/2 mile south of Racetrack Road, with a BAC of 0.128 percent; sentence – 45 days to 6 months probation with the first 45 days on home monitoring, $750 fine.


Amanda Mazon, 28, of 119 Brady Ave., Washington; four counts of burglary; charged for incidents on May 27, June 5 and two on June 9, 2010, in the 300 block of Moon Road, Chartiers Township; sentence – 3 years of probation, with 1 to 2 years to be served on home monitoring, ordered to pay $7,437 in restitution.


Francis Falcon, 30, of 370 Duncan Ave., Apt. 3, Washington; receiving stolen property, criminal mischief; charged for slashing all four tires of a car parked at 996 Jefferson Ave., Washington, on Aug. 11, 2011, and for ordering a driver of a vehicle to get out of his car at gunpoint and then taking the car in the 400 block of Addison St., Washington on Sept. 16, 2011; sentence – 9 to 23 months in jail with work release.


James Shultz, 49, of 412 Houston St., Washington; disorderly conduct; charged Aug. 25 at a yard sale held at 76 W. Hallam Ave., Washington; sentence – $50 fine.


Richard C. Long, 33, of 417 Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris; simple assault; charged Sept. 7 for assaulting a Washington female at 277 Laurie Lane, Amwell Township; sentence – 2 years of probation; $50 restitution, anger management program.


Corry S. Mays, 37, of 533 Park Ave., Canonsburg; simple assault; charged July 18 for hitting, kicking and tackling his 14-year-old stepson at their home; sentence – 12 months of high impact probation with the first 3 months on home monitoring with work release, anger management program, drug and alcohol evaluation.


Nathan D. Cataldo, 21, of 800 Scenic Drive, Washington; second offense of DUI; charged following a single vehicle crash on Nov. 29 at Toll 43, California Borough, with a BAC of 0.186 percent; sentence – 32 days in jail followed by 60 days on home monitoring, $1,500 fine, 18-month license suspension.


Elaine Ondra, 44, of 970 1/2 Wayne St., Washington; second offense of DUI; charged Aug. 1 following a traffic stop at Third Street and Jefferson Avenue, Washington, refusing a breath test; 30 days in jail followed by 60 days on home monitoring with work release, $1,500 fine, 18-month license suspension.


Dimiah Smith, 22, of 357 Highland Ridge Road, Marianna; receiving stolen property; charged with receiving items stolen from 2 Mill St., Millsboro; sentence – 24 months of probation.


Several people were admitted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program for first-time offenders. If they successfully complete the program, they can petition the court to expunge their records. Appearing before Judge Katherine Emery were:


Geoffrey W. Staley, 23, of Clubview Drive, McMurray, was admitted for 6 months for theft from a motor vehicle. He was charged Aug. 8 for taking three GPS units, power cords, mounts and a pair of Oakley sunglasses from vehicles on Gateshead Drive and Scarborough Lane, Peters Township.


Victoria L. Welden, 23, of 109 Fourth St., Perryopolis, was admitted for 12 months for providing false identification to a law enforcement officer and driving without a license. She was charged Aug. 4 following a traffice stop in the 100 block of McKean Avenue, Donora.


Raven Bishop, 20, of 68573 Old Cadiz Road, Bridgeport, Ohio, was admitted for 12 months for retail. She was charged April 16 at Little Ceasar’s Pizza, 152 E. Pike St., Canonsburg, for activating gift cards for cash, where she was an employee.


Donna J. Jones, 38, of 29 Franklin St., Cokeburg, was admitted for 6 months for theft of property lost by mistake. She was charged on July 1 at Giant Eagle, 155 Wilson Road, Bentleyville, after finding a pocketbook in a shopping cart then keeping it.


Appearing before Judge DiSalle were:


Cody P. Helmick, 23, of 3136 W. Chestnut St., Washington, was admitted for 6 months for theft. He was charged Dec. 16 for taking a card containing money out of a newspaper mail box intended for the newspaper carrier in the area of Armstrong Drive and Weirich Ave., Canton Township.


Barbara F. Lombardo, 53, of 170 Cross Creek Road, Avella, was admitted for 12 months for a first offense of DUI.


Appearing before Borkowski were:


Bonnie L. Ermlick, 60, of 700 Jacobs Ferry Road, Carmichaels, was admitted for 12 months for false identification to law enforcement. She was charged on Jan. 9 at Gabriel Brothers, Washington Road, South Strabane Township.


Brandon L. Daniels, 27, of 785 McKeen Ave., was admitted for 6 months for corruption of minors. He was charged July 30 for providing marijuana to minors and smoking it with them at 454 Fourth St. Rear, Donora.
