He was born August 3, 1926, in Chubut, Argentina, a son of Heinrich Otto and Marta Dora Schubert Pleil.
Mr. Pleil had worked in construction as a carpenter.
He attended Free Methodist Church in Washington.
Mr. Pleil ran a lawn and garden business on the side, enjoyed nature and gardening and had a deep love for his eight children.
On October 5, 1952, he married Nadine Moonje, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Amadeus (Charlotte) Pleil of Canada, Alvin Pleil of San Francisco, Calif., Raymond Pleil of North Carolina and Franklin (Nicolle) Pleil of Eighty Four; four daughters, Helga (Ted) Chapman of Clinton; Vijaya (Bill) Milam of Florida, Andrea (Kerry) DuBac of Carnegie and Else (Robert) Trautwein of Indianapolis; six brothers; a sister; and 16 grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Juanita Pleil.
Friends will be received from 10 to noon, the time of services, Monday, April 15, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Ted Chapman officiating.
