Police beat April 17
Assault, harassment charges: William Richard White, 34, of 306 Frye Ave., Bentleyville, was arrested Monday by Southwest Regional police on charges of simple assault and harassment.Ron Gavazzi was bent over a bathtub in their home caring for an injured dog when his stepson allegedly attacked him from behind, police said.White was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in theWashington County jail on $5,000 bond.
PFA violation charges: Dennis James Robinson, 39, of 380 Donnan Ave., Apt. 3, faces charges of violating a protection-from-abuse order Monday. Police said Marvelle Robinson, of 55 W. Chestnut St., had gone to a store on West Chestnut Street when Dennis Robinson followed her and reached into her purse for her cell phone. Marvelle Robinson managed to get the phone away from him during a struggle. Police said she had just filed for divorce and had a signed PFA from September.
Windows broken: Ray Clutter, of 804 Ewing St., reported to police Monday that numerous windows were broken out of a house he was remodeling.
Theft reported: Dustin Morris, of 350 Duncan Ave., Apt. 5, reported the theft of a revolver from a dresser drawer last week. Police have a suspect in the theft.
Debit card stolen: Dionna Jackson, of 136 E. Walnut St., reported her debit card missing April 3 after she had been at the City Mission. Jackson said the card was then used to make $237 in purchases.
Drug paraphernalia citation: Jesse R. Jankowski, 23, of 66 Laurel Ave., was cited by police for having drug paraphernalia after officers received a report of a man crawling through a window on Laurel Avenue Monday night. They went to the house and Jankowski opened the door. Once inside they found a hyperdermic needle, spoons with heroin residue on them and an empty stamp bag. Jankowski explained he had crossed his neighbor’s porch in order to reach a window to get into his house. Another man inside the residence was released.
