Police beat April 24
Theft reported: Diane Macurak of 502 McNary St. told Canonsburg police Monday a global-positioning system, iPhone charger and coins were stolen from her vehicle.
Home burglarized: Anna Marie Trovato of 125 N. Jefferson Ave. told Canonsburg police Monday that alcohol, antique collectible dolls and china were stolen in a burglary of her home.
Drug arrest: Leonard J. Skubic, 49, of 605 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, was charged by Charleroi Regional police with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, receiving stolen property and public drunkenness, court records show. Police accuse him of stuffing a stamp bag of heroin under the seat of a police cruiser where he was placed about 12:45 a.m. April 18 after being apprehended for stumbling near Seventh Street and Cherry Way, the affidavit states. Police also accuse him of stealing a vacuum cleaner from a neighbor Saturday and selling it to a pawn shop. He is in the Washington County jail on $100,000 bond after being arrested on warrants and arraigned Monday before District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Man jailed: James Romito, 48, of 90 Castner Ave., Donora, was charged by borough police with possession of drug paraphernalia over accusations he had two crack pipes when they approached him near his residence about 8:15 p.m. April 15. He is in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond after being arrested on a warrant an arraigned Monday before District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Theft arrests: William A. Leasure, 35, of 177 First Ave., New Eagle, and Brad A. Behanna, 19, of 866 Route 481, Carroll Township, were charged by city police with burglary, trespassing, theft, conspiracy and criminal attempt to commit theft, court records show. Police said the men attempted to steal a dozen large industrial drill bits, sewer grates and other metal items about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday from Patterson Supply Co., 1101 Railroad St., the affidavit indicates. They are in the Washington County jail on $35,000 bonds set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Bar cited: Operators of Jim’s Bar, 163-165 W. Main St., Monongahela, will be cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly failing to clean the beer dispensing system at least once every seven days.
Faces DUI charge: Kim Paul Hankins, 59, of 228 Fieldbrook Drive, North Strabane, faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after his vehicle crashed into an embankment between the DoubleTree parking lot, 340 Racetrack Road, and an access road Thursday night, North Strabane police said. Police said he admitted he had been drinking.
Bar cited: Operators of Main Street Brew House, 250 S. Main St., Washington, will be cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly not being a bona fide restaurant, and for allowing smoking.
Laptop stolen: Jenetta Ledbetter told city police a laptop worth about $700 was stolen from her house on East Hallam Avenue Monday.
Fake bill: An employee at South Side restaurant on South Main Street told police a fake $100 bill was used by a customer Monday afternoon.
