Bird club presents $1,000 scholarship
The Ralph K. Bell Bird Club of Greene County presented its fifth annual scholarship award at a dinner held at Greenside Grille. Applicants were asked to write a 500-word essay about “The Birds of Greene County.” This year’s award of $1,000 went to Quincy Hathaway of Jefferson. Hathaway graduated from Carmichaels High School and is currently attending Waynesburg University. From left are Marjorie Howard, president of the bird club, Hathaway and Ralph K. Bell.
