WAYNESBURG – The Greene County Conservation District has postponed its Conservation Service Fair scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 11 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. The service fair will be rescheduled.
The service fair was designed to connect the community with the local civic organizations that are working to promote the county’s natural resources. The Conservation District will be notifying all registered organizations of the cancellation, as well as when a new date and time have been determined.
Interested organizations can still contact the Conservation District about registering for the rescheduled service fair. Booth registration is free, and organizations should be conservation-minded in mission.
National Soil and Water Stewardship Week will still be held May 5-12. This year’s theme is “Where Does Your Water Shed?”
National Soil and Water Stewardship Week recognizes that fertile soil and clean water provide daily sustenance as well as security, and that effective conservation practices and stewardship have resulted in a richer standard of living.
