Mother’s Fund sponsorship
The Washington County Community Foundation has received a $5,000 sponsorship gift from First Commonwealth Bank for the Mother’s Fund. Since 2007, First Commonwealth has been the exclusive fiscal sponsor of the Mother’s Fund, which makes grants in support of disadvantaged women and children. First Commonwealth’s financial support is used primarily for marketing activities to encourage Mother’s Fund contributions. One such activity has been the purchase of yellow rose lapel pins given in appreciation for a nominal $5 contribution to the fund. From left are Traci L. McDonald, WCCF Women of Philanthropy Giving Circle chairwoman; Deborah E. Takach, First Commonwealth Bank vice president and vice chairwoman of the WCCF board; and Lynne R. Stout, Giving Circle member. “To date, the Mother’s Fund has awarded more than $84,000 in grants to excellent local programs serving disadvantaged women and children, such as those that help single working mothers, victims of abuse, at-risk youth nd homeless families work toward improving their circumstances,” Takach said.
