Boy, 8, riding skateboard struck by vehicle, dies

CLAIRTON (AP) – Police in Western Pennsylvania are investigating a traffic accident that claimed the life of a Pittsburgh-area boy.

Officers in Jefferson Hills said 8-year-old Connor Zink was riding a skateboard when he was struck by a vehicle shortly after 9 p.m. Friday.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office says he was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where he died less than an hour later.

Officials said homicide detectives are assisting Jefferson Hills police in the investigation.
