Arrest made in double-fatal Duquesne shooting

DUQUESNE (AP) – Homicide investigators in Western Pennsylvania say a man being sought in the fatal shootings of two men, one a local hip-hop performer, in a crime-ridden Pittsburgh suburb has surrendered to authorities.

Allegheny County police say 26-year-old Michael Robinson of Duquesne turned himself in late Wednesday afternoon and will be held awaiting arraignment.

Police allege that he and another man ran when officers confronted them at his grandmother’s home Monday evening shortly after 29-year-old Lawrence Short, of Clairton, and 18-year-old Tyrone Coleman, of Duquesne, were gunned down while sitting on steps in Duquesne. Short is known to be a member of the hip-hop group Hardcore Entertainment.

Police say weapons were found in a vehicle that witnesses said Robinson drove from the area. Police aren’t saying whether anyone else is being sought.
