Darlene Bertha Crothers Brooks

Venice Presbyterian Church member

Darlene Bertha Crothers Brooks, 67, of Southview, loving mother and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 22, 2013.

She was born October 23, 1945, in Southview, a daughter of the late William Donald and Bertha Bell Spencer Crothers.

Mrs. Brooks was a member of Venice Presbyterian Church and the Clan Mothers of Native American Indian Coalition of Pennsylvania.

She was a homemaker known for her icebox pudding cake and preparing delicious meals for her family.

Surviving are a daughter, Sherry (Glen) Tretyak of Cecil; two sons, Dean (Stacey) J. Brooks and Brian Scott Brooks, both of Southview; four grandchildren, Elisha (Joe Geyer) Tretyak, Dean Brooks and twins Emma Jean and Jacob Scott Brooks; two great-grandchildren, Dean and McKennah Brooks; two sisters, Betty Ann (Sonny) Gent and Wilma (Wayne) Lewis, both of Southview; a brother, Bill (Deborah) Crothers of McDonald; a brother-in-law, Dave Wussick of Southview; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William A. Brooks Jr. in 2011; and a son, Billy Brooks, whose remembrance is as strong now as when he died; and a sister, Sandy Wussick.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Route 50), Cecil, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26, with Pastor Fred Soberg officiating. Doris Louise Baxter Buell

Amateur artist was First Baptist Church member

Doris Louise Baxter Buell, 83, of Monongahela, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013.

She was born July 18, 1929, in Hazelkirk, the thirteenth child to Thomas and Jennie Bautz Baxter.

Mrs. Buell graduated from Monongahela High School in 1947. She was also a graduate of Franco Beauty Academy and maintained a successful beauty shop for many years.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Grand Army of the Republic.

Mrs. Buell was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Monongahela.

She was an amateur artist and loved entertaining, loved her family and most of all loved being Lee Buell’s wife.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Cynthia (Arthur) Hall of Pottstown, Marsha (Ralph) Wingrove of Indiana and Donna (Daniel) Turney of Shelocta; eight grandchildren, Jason and Nathan Hall, Amy Stone, Leslie Yount, Natalie Scott, Ryan Wingrove, Lee Anne Barrett and Jakob Turney; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rose Gust and Catherine Liparulo, both of Monongahela.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Buell, who died December 19, 2010; four brothers, Albert, Tom, James and Paul Baxter; and six sisters, Eugenia Baxter, Elizabeth Henderson, Colleen Tosi, Ella Mae Good, Martha Frye and Bertha Bozovich.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, with the Rev. Elizabeth J. Elliehausen

Elizabeth J. Elliehausen, 86, of McDonald, formerly of York, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, in her home.

She was born February 23, 1927, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late James Lawrence and Helen Hartman Bable.

Mrs. Elliehausen was a secretary for York Housing Authority.

She was a member of Chapel Church of Red Lion and was a spelling bee champion of York County.

Surviving are her children, James (Edith) Elliehausen of Red Lion, William (Cheryl) Elliehausen of York and Susan Leese of Maryland; brothers and sisters George (Jane) Bable of Midway, Barbara (William) Yerkey of McDonald, Edward Bable of Midway and Dolores Bable of McDonald; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon, the time of service, Saturday, May 25, in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 314 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, 724-926-2800. Anthony Eugene Faiella Jr.

A memorial Mass for Anthony Eugene Faiella Jr., who died Saturday, April 20, 2013, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, in Immaculate Conception Church, West Chestnut Street, Washington. The public is welcome. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. Eric P. Wabrick Sr.

Enjoyed gardening, politics

Eric P. Wabrick Sr., 53, of North Strabane Township, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 23, 2013, after a long illness.

He was the beloved husband of Monica Maier Wabrick of North Strabane.

Mr. Wabrick was born October 8, 1959, in McKeesport, a son of the late DeWayne and Elsie Mate Wabrick.

He was the loving father of Eric P. Wabrick II of North Strabane and Lisa C. Wabrick of Burlington, Vt.; dear brother of Joyce (Paul) Banchak, DeWayne Wabrick and Jodi Beggarly; cherished brother-in-law of James (Karen) Maier, Eric (Stacey) Miles, William (Rachel) Miles and Denise (Dave) Huey; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wabrick enjoyed gardening and politics. He also enjoyed watching and coaching his children’s sports teams.
