SS Peter and Paul Shrine in Cumberland, Md., was the site for the wedding ceremony of Jessica McNurlen and Luke Fuchs, who were united in marriage October 20, 2012. The Rev. Richard Gray officiated the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Jesse and Jodi McNurlen of Washington. Her grandparents are Jack Armstrong of Washington and the late Lucy Armstrong and the late Jesse and Bertha McNurlen.

Parents of the bridegroom are Dr. David and Mindy Fuchs of Coldwater, Mich. His grandparents are Mary Ann Rujak of Washington and the late Andrew Rujak; John and Delore Fuchs of Washington; and Ruth Petricca of Washington and the late Matthew Petricca.

Maid of honor was Natalie Bell of Pittsburgh. Bridesmaids were Monica Miller of Washington, Ashleigh Dugan of Fairfax, Va., Lauren Biller of Washington, cousin of the bride; and Meghan Phillips of Mount Morris, the groom’s sister.

Chris Cochran of Houston was best man. Ushers were Marine Adam Mabry of Atlanta, Marine Billy Jenkins of Pittsburgh, Stefan Livingston of Olney, Md., and Steve Spiegel of Washington.

Serving as flower Marines were Staff Sgt. Kirby Fanus and Sgt. Peter Casey.

Readers were Mindy Fuchs, mother of the groom, David Fuchs, brother of the groom, and Lauren Billie, cousin of the bride.

Lesley Kirzeder, the groom’s sister, was vocalist.

A reception was held at Rocky Gap Lodge and Golf Resort.

The newlyweds took a honeymoon trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The new Mrs. Fuchs is a 2004 graduate of Trinity High School; a 2008 graduate of Mercyhurst University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology; and a 2010 graduate of the University of Maryland, where she earned a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling. She is project director for the Mental Health Association’s military and veteran initiative in Rockville, Md.

The groom is a 2002 Trinity High School graduate and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Maryland. He is a staff sergeant in the U.S Marine Corps, Force Recon.
