Ringgold to hold commencement

Ringgold High School will graduate 251 seniors during its commencement at 7 p.m. today at Joe Montana Stadium next the high school on Route 136 in Carroll Township.


Two co-valedictorians, Harley Bobnar and Kelly Donovan, will speak on behalf of 24 co-valedictorians. Classmates Leanne Fries and Rose Jasko also will speak, along with senior class President Chris Walker Spahr Jr.


Harley Bobnar is a daughter of Joseph and Saundra Bobnar of New Eagle. She has been selected as senior of the year, volunteers at Mon Valley Hospital and Washington City Mission, and is a member of the National Honor Society. She will attend Washington & Jefferson College in Washington and major in biochemistry.


Kelly Donovan is a daughter of James and Karen Donovan of Monongahela. She participated in her school’s mock trial team, is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and Interact Club and has won the Baush & Lomb Award and the Consol Energy scholarship. She will attend the University of Pittsburgh and major in engineering.


The other co-valedictorians are:


Kathryn Bandi, a daughter of Timothy and Noreen Bandi of Nottingham Township, will attend Duquesne University of Pittsburgh and major in biochemistry.


Kyle Bansavage, a son of David and Lorraine Bansavage of Eighty Four, will attend Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and major in computer science.


Amanda Bero, a daughter of George and Dianna Bero of Finleyville, will attend Westminster College in New Wilmington and major in biology and chemistry.


Cortnie Devore, a daughter of Scott Devore and Valerie Paul of New Eagle, will attend Westminster College in New Wilmington and major in psychology.


Jacob Foglia, a son of Steven and Lori Foglia of Carroll Township, will attend Pennsylvania State University Behrend in Erie and major in electrical engineering.


Leanne Fries, a daughter of Michael and Christina Fries of Finleyville, will attend Lock Haven University and major in communications and broadcasting.


Nicole Guarinoni, a daughter of Frank and Kimberly Guarinoni of Monongahela, will attend Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, and major in nursing.


Hunter Homa, a son of Dwayne and Jane Homa of Monongahela, will attend Pennsylvania State University Behrend in Erie and major in petroleum engineering


Alexandra Indof, a daughter of Jeffrey and Bobbie Indof of Monongahela, will attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania and major in nursing.


Rose Jasko, a daughter of Robert and Kelly Jasko of Finleyville, will attend Pennsylvania State University and major in aerospace engineering.


Samuel Kainz, a son of Anthony and Tonya Kainz of Union Township, will attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, and major in American legal studies.


Nicholas Kapty, a son of Robert and Sue Ellen Kapty of Monongahela, will attend Pennsylvania State University Behrend in Erie and major in software engineering.


Jamie Klebanski, a daughter of Sandy Klebanski of Finleyville, will attend Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, where she will major in physician assistant studies.


Cory Lutz, a son of Timothy and Terri Lutz of Eighty Four, will attend Robert Morris University, Pittsburgh, and major in mechanical and manufacturing engineering.


Johanna Schmidt, a daughter of Carl and Tara Schmidt of Eighty Four, will attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, Ind., and major in chemical engineering.


Christine Slavick, a daughter of Karen Slavick of Monongahela, will attend California University of Pennsylvania and major in forensic science.


Jeffrey Smida, a son of Mark and Linda Smida of Monongahela, will attend Pennsylvania State University and major in plastics engineering.


Sean St. Cyr, a son of Mark and Tonia St. Cyr of New Eagle, will attend Pennsylvania State University Behrend in Erie and major in mechanical engineering.


Sarah Stine, a daughter of Jim and Mary Stine of Carroll Township, will attend the University of Pittsburgh and major in business and human resources.


Alisha Swalin, a daughter of Charles and Melinda Swalin of Carroll Township, will attend Wheeling Jesuit University, West Virginia, and major in athletic training.


Harleigh Wujcik, a daughter of Cathy and the late Joseph Wujcik of Monongahela, will attend Robert Morris University, Pittsburgh, and major in accounting.


Travis Yost, a son of Dale and Laurie Yost of Venetia, will attend Pennsylvania State University Behrend in Erie and major in mechanical engineering.
