Theft charges: Jordan Cornell Crews, 20, of Uniontown, and Tiffany Dawn Stewart, 29, of California, will be charged this week by California police with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing checks from in the borough and cashing them for $1,090 May 8. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Two charged in assault: Michael Margie, 28, and Christianne Valla Girardan, 26, both of Belle Vernon, face charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct for allegedly assaulting Girardan’s mother during a domestic dispute May 29 on Liberty Street, California police said. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Boy charged: A 9-year-old California boy will be charged by California police with criminal mischief for allegedly damaging a California School District bus May 15. The boy will be charged in a juvenile allegation.
Burglary, loitering charges: Papa Djbril Kote, 29, of Poteau, Okla., will be charged with burglary and loitering and prowling at night after he was identified as the person who entered apartments on Sixth Street and Hickory Street without the permission of the tenants May 23, California police said. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Estranged wife assaulted: Calvin Dainty, 47, of 601 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, was arrested Tuesday by Charleroi Regional police for allegedly punching his estranged wife, Lisa Dainty, in the head, causing her to fall into a wall outside her home at 803 Fallowfield. Police said it was the second time they were called to the house Tuesday. He left before police arrived. She was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkennesss and placed in the Washington County jail on a $10,000 percentage bond.
One injured: Joshua Yeager, 18, of Western Avenue, Chartiers, was injured when his vehicle crashed into a tractor-trailer tanker hauling hyrdrocarbon on Route 18 (Western Avenue) between Allegheny Ludlum and Putorti Lane about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Chartiers police said Yeager was going north when his vehicle crossed the center line and hit the rig owned by MarkWest. Yeager’s vehicle first hit the front drive axle of the tractor before hitting a rear tire on the trailer. Sgt. Ron Raymond said the tanker was not compromised and there was no leakage. Yeager suffered a minor injury and was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital. The truck driver, Jerry Chambers, 62, of Evans City, was not injured. The road was shut down for about an hour. Chartiers firefighters also responded.
Assault charges: Korey R. Keener, 30, of 1270 Route 40 West, Claysville, was arrested early Wednesday by Donegal police following an incident at the Petro 6 Truck Stop, 24 Donegal Ave. Keener had been at the store after being asked to leave and not return. When police arrived and found him in his vehicle, he was asked to get out and put his hands on the roof. Keener got out but started walking away and refused to stop. He was placed in handcuffs until police could ascertain what happened in the store. After police told him to leave and not return, Keener reportedly became combative and tried to pull away from the officer. He was taken to the ground by police. Keener also allegedly told the officer to watch his back because he has guns. Keener was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Charged in assault: Brian M. Lewis, 35, of 123 Kenric Ave., Donora, was charged by borough police with simple assault, accused of striking Braden Pucel four times in the head during a disagreement in their residence about noon Sunday, court records show. He is free on $5,000 bond set Tuesday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Jailed for harassment: Michael S. Coulson, 52, of 9 Maninna Ave., Dunlevy, was charged by Roscoe, Elco, Stockdale and Allenport regional police with intimidation of a witness, harassment and disorderly conduct, court records show. Police accuse Coulson of leaving a lawn mower’s engine running under a window to the residence of his neighbor, Lori Wheatley, and also spraying her windows with a garden hose in a complaint received May 20. He also is accused of ramming the woman’s house with a lawn mower eight days later in an apparent attempt to frighten her into dropping the case, police stated in the affidavit. Coulson is in the Washington County jail on $35,000 bond set Monday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Out-of-county warrant: Joseph W. Crile, 36, of 478 Dividing Ridge Road, Waynesburg, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Curtis Thompson on drug charges filed by state police in Cameron County. Crile is accused of selling marijuana to undercover officers at a bar in Driftwood last November. Crile was arraigned on chargs of delivery and possession of marijuana. Thompson set bond at $25,000 and Crile was to be returned to Cameron County.
Retail theft charges: Barbara A. Hlavsa, 41, of 108 Brandywine Drive, McMurray, was charged with retail theft Tuesday after she walked out of the Giant Eagle on Washington Road with $138 in items for which she did not pay, township police said.
Robbery arrest: Andre L. Cromwell, 42, of Pittsburgh, was arrested late Tuesday on a warrant on charges filed by Washington police after he allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint May 26. Cromwell is accused of robbing Ruth Blackmon of $700 while the two were at a house at 864 Chartiers St. Cromwell reportedly saw Blackmon with a large amount of money after she allegedly made change for another man. When he left the room, Cromwell allegedly pulled the gun on Blackmon. Cromwell was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of robbery and reckless endangerment. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $35,000 bond.
Possession charge: Marley Goehring, 20, of 448 N. Main St., Apt. 13, will be charged with possession of marijuana after city police found a plastic baggie containing marijuana in Goehring’s sock near 152 Jollick Manor Tuesday. Goehring also was in possession of $480 in cash. Charges to be sent through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Faces drug charges: Travis Hallam, 19, of 195 Vance Station Road will face possession charges after city police found a digital scale and unmarked prescription pills in a vehicle Hallam and two other men were sleeping in Tuesday morning. Police also destroyed a bottle of alcohol. Charges will be sent through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
