Police beat June 7
Bike stolen: Jason Martin of Houston told Canonsburg police Wednesday that his 26-inch Mongoose bicycle was stolen from outside his workplace at Kentucky Fried Chicken, Cavasina Drive.
Harassment, trespass charges: California police charged Joseph Willis, 58, of 399 First St., California, with harassment and criminal trespass in connection with an incident Wednesday at 504 Green St. in California.
Harassment alleged: Southwest Regional police have charged Hanniah Bottone, 25, of 601 Stilley Road, Lot 15, Clairton, with harassing Troy Wazny of Elrama and Crystal Sporio of Finleyville at 7 Davidson Ave., Elrama, on May 28. The charges were filed with District Judge James Ellis in McMurray.
Fire investigated: State police are investigating a fire deliberately set May 23 at the American Legion, 124 W. Pike St., Houston. Police said a telephone book was set on fire and a picnic table was damaged. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
Man injured: Roger Oldaker, 72, of 2039 Majestic Drive, North Strabane, was injured Wednesday afternoon when his lawn tractor reportedly rolled over on him after he drove over a hill. North Strabane police said he was trapped under the tractor for more than three hours. He was found about 5:30 p.m. and taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment of head and back injuries, as well as dehydration.
Theft, fugitive charges: Jenna Lynn Palmer, 22, of Wheeling, W.Va., was arrested Wednesday by South Strabane police after she allegedly was caught trying to steal merchandise valued at more than $1,000 from Walmart, Trinity Point. Police also determined she was wanted by law enforcement in Ohio County, W.Va., on felony charges of fraudulent use of credit cards. She was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on the fugitive warrant and charges of retail theft and criminal trespass. She was placed in the Washington County jail without bond pending extradition to West Virginia. Costanzo set her bond at $1,500 on the other charges.
Theft, trespass charge: Robert D. Riggle, 27, of Triadelphia, W.Va., was arrested Tuesday on charges of retail theft and defiant trespass for allegedly going to the shoe department at Walmart, Trinity Point, taking off his boots, putting on a new pair and then putting his old ones in the box on the shelf before leaving the store. Riggle was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo and placed in the Washington County jail on $1,500 bond.
Property stolen: A Summerlea Avenue woman told Washington police that $3,000 in property was stolen from her home. Several guns were stolen in late 2011, and more recently a generator and a mixer were stolen. She was able to buy back some of her property, which had been sold to local stores. Police have a suspect in the case.
Cellphone stolen: Chyane Dyson, 24, of 1375 Allison Ave., told Washington police that she believes her phone was stolen by a woman Wednesday. Dyson believes she dropped her phone outside her residence while getting out of her car. When Dyson called her number, a woman answered and said she found the phone, but then turned off the phone and did not return calls.
