Police beat June 9
DUI, underage charges: Zachary Adam Miele, 20, of Ruffs Dale, Westmoreland County, was charged Thursday by McDonald police with driving under the influence of alcohol, minor DUI, underage drinking and several traffic violations stemming from a May 18 traffic stop on Route 18, Burgettstown. Police said his blood alcohol content was 10 times the 0.02 percent level assumed for intoxication in anyone under the age of 21. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Harassment charge: Timothy F. Norquist, 38, of Bentleyville, will be charged by state police with harassment for allegedly punching Elizabeth M. Norquist, 38, of Bentleyville, in the mouth and knocking her off a bar stool on to her back while they were at the Crazy Horse, 24 S. Main St., about 2:24 a.m. Saturday. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Habitual offender: Ronald Glenn Johnson, 29, 7 Campbell St., Avella, was charged Thursday by McDonald police as a habitual offender and with driving under suspension stemming from a May 16 traffic stop on Campbell Street, Independence. Johnson was seen getting into a vehicle and drive east on Campbell. He told police that he only drove to the convenience store, then to a bar for a few drinks before returning home. His certified driving record indicates he has been convicted of driving under suspension 11 times. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Theft charge: Amy Yenchik, 40, of 14 Rockmore Road, McDonald, was charged Thursday with theft after allegedly marking down items while working at Dollar General, 315 W. Barr St., in April and May. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Valarie Costanzo.
