W&J, Waynesburg in D-III Top 25

  • June 12, 2013

oth the Washington & Jefferson College and Waynesburg University football teams have landed spots in the Sporting News College Football Yearbook Division III Preseason Top 25.

W&J is the magazine’s No. 19 ranked team and Waynesburg is ranked No. 22.

W&J returns 13 starters (8 offense, 5 defense) from last year’s 8-3 squad that won the program’s 22nd Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship. W&J earned the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs, but lost at Johns Hopkins in the first round.

Waynesburg returns 12 starters, including eight on defense, from a team that was 10-1 last season, won the ECAC Southwest Bowl and tied with W&J for the PAC title.

W&J and Waynesburg meet Nov. 10 at Cameron Stadium.
