Police beat June 18
Theft: State police are seeking information on the theft of a New Holland tractor, which was stolen from 893 Waterdam Road between June 6 and 10. The tractor was recovered. Anyone with information is being asked to call state police at 724-627-6151.
Battery stolen: A battery was stolen from a tractor at 375 Toll Gate Run Road between May 25 and May 28, state police said. The property is owned by Roger Durbin.
No injuries: No injuries were reported in a single-car crash at 10 a.m. June 9 on Mapletown Road, state police said. Police said Logan D. Fox, 39, of Morgantown, W.Va., failed to negotiate a curve. His vehicle struck a fence.
Two injured: Two people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash at 7:35 p.m. Saturday on Route 221, just south of Kennel Road, state police said. John Hyatt, 30, of Vestaburg, and Matthew G. Brumley, 54, of Waynesburg, were both flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Hyatt was in good condition Monday. No condition report was available for Brumley. Police said Brumley was entering Route 221 from a gravel parking lot just south of Kennel Road when his vehicle collided with Hyatt’s vehicle, which was traveling south at a high rate of speed. Upon impact, Brumley’s vehicle became airborne and overturned onto its side. Hyatt had an upper leg and hip injury and Brumley suffered an upper chest injury, police said. Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company assisted at the scene.
Drug possession: A Morgantown, W.Va., man stopped on Interstate 79 at 5:10 p.m. Sunday for speeding, was charged with driving under the influence and found to be in possession of 96 stamp bags of suspected heroin, state police said. Taylor Val Adams, 37, was arrested on a DUI charge. Drug charges are pending results of laboratory tests, police said. In addition to the 96 bags of heroin, police said they found Adams in possession of 41 empty bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Pickup stolen: A red 2001 Ford F150 pickup bearing Pennsylvania registration number ZDK8948 was stolen from the residence of Melvin Dulaney of Aleppo at 10:25 p.m. Thursday, state police said. The vehicle was last seen being driven south on Windy Gap Road.
Theft: About 1,500 feet of 4 conductor number 10 wire was stolen from a West Penn Power substation on Pole Cat Hollow Road between 2 a.m. and 9:10 a.m. June 7, state police said.
