Joyce Ann Traub, 55, of Muse, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, in West Penn Hospital, Forbes Hospice, in Pittsburgh, following a courageous three-year battle with cancer, with her family by her side.

She was born December 15, 1957, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Silvio Jr. and Patricia Ann Walker Bernardi.

Originally from Muse, she lived in Chesterfield County, Va., for 21 years, and returned to her roots in Muse in 2000.

Mrs. Traub was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church.

She was a 1975 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.

Mrs. Traub had been employed at Ray Hough Co. as a customer service manager.

Surviving are two sons, Michael Traub (fiancée Krisie Soriano) of Moseley, Va., and Adam Traub of Richmond, Va., and their father, David Traub of Richmond; a sister, Patricia A. (Michael) Dooey of Hamilton, N.J.; four aunts; two uncles; several cousins; and many good friends.

Friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, June 22, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Muse, with the Rev. George DeVille as celebrant. Interment will follow in West Point Cemetery, Avella.

She had a true love for her family, friends and pets. She requested any memorial contributions be made in her memory to a noneuthanizing animal rescue center of the donor’s choice. To view or extend condolences, please visit
