Richard P. Minteer
Richard P. Minteer passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013.
Surviving are his wife, Nho “Yanni;” three children, Krista (Ragip) of New York, Kevin (Nicole) of New Jersey and Matthew of New Jersey; his wife’s children, Yen Ly of the state of California, Nick Ly (Betty) of New Jersey and Chau Ly of the state of California; they both shared in the lives of their grandsons, Jacob and Tyler Ly; and sisters Janice Keeling and Joyce Minteer of Claysville.
He grew up in Western Pennsylvania and attended Bethany College in West Virginia.
After graduating from Rutgers Law School in Camden, N.J., he opened his own law practice in 1981 and had practiced continuously since that time in southern New Jersey.
Mr. Minteer was widely known for his integrity and for his kind and gentle demeanor. He was a pillar of the community through both his law practice and his volunteerism at St. Casimir’s Parish.
A loving husband, dedicated father, loyal friend and an outstanding person with a heart of gold, he will be deeply missed by all, not only by his family, but also by his colleagues, friends, clients and the many people who very much depended on him.
Come celebrate his 61 wonderful years from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, in Resurrection Parish, St. Casimir Site, Riverside. Interment will be private.
