DUI, fleeing charges: Vernie Altobelli, 52, of 113 Brook Drive, Venetia, was charged with fleeing, driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, and possession of a controlled substance, township police said. Altobelli was first seen by a township public works employee driving erratically at 5:57 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of East McMurray Road, police said. She continued to travel east on East McMurray Road and near the intersection of Lindendale Road, police said, she crossed to the opposite lane and almost struck an oncoming police car. Altobelli then accelerated and fled. She was last seen in the 500 block of East McMurray Road. The registration provided Altobelli’s address and when police arrived, she was found sitting in the vehicle in the drive. Police found a small plastic case in the vehicle that contained a variety of pills. Altobelli was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for blood testing and was charged with fleeing, DUI and possession of a controlled substance. She was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis and was placed in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.

Three disorderdly conduct charges: A man was charged with disorderly conduct three times in less than four hours after Washington police said they found him yelling at people and disrupting traffic on Jefferson Avenue Thursday. Police said they were first called to the 1000 block of Jefferson around 9 a.m. after receiving reports of Paul D. Giles shouting at customers at Isiminger’s. Police cited Giles, 37, no address, for disorderly conduct, but were called back again at 10:30 a.m. after witnesses said he continued to cause problems and he was cited again. Police said they were once again called to the area shortly after noon when Giles was again disrupting traffic and yelling. He faces three counts of disorderly conduct and was taken to the Washington County jail on $2,500 bond.


Theft, paraphernalia charges: Megan Lynn Walton, 21, of 1835 N. Main St., Washington, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of retail theft and possession of paraphernalia stemming from two incidents earlier this year. She is charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing make-up from CVS, West Beau Street, Feb. 28. Washington police charged with possession of paraphernalia after she was found with a spoon with traces of heroin May 15. Walton was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in the Washington County jail on $10,000 percentage bond.


Drug charges: Kenneth Schroeder, 30, of 420 E. Maiden St., Washington, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of possession of drugs and paraphernalia. Washington police found Schroeder with pills and a needle when he was seen stumbling on East Maiden Street Nov. 7. Schroeder, who is in Washington County Jail on other charges, had bond set by Redlinger at $10,000.


Paraphernalia, prostitution charges: Marie Conklin, 36, of Washington, was arraigned Wednesday on two sets of charges filed by Washington police. Conklin was charged May 30 with possession of paraphernalia and public drunkenness after police found her in the 100 block of West Walnut Street after she was told to leave the area. She was charged with prostitution and pedestrian solicitation after she was seen last July flagging down a vehicle in the 10 block of West Walnut. The driver admitted she agreed to perform a sex act in exchange for money. Conklin, who is in the Washington County jail on other charges, was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger, who set bond at $10,000.


Threats charge: Eric Johnson, 24, of 255 Duncan Ave., Washington, was arraigned Wednesday on a charge of terroristic threats filed by Washington police. He is accused of threatening Ashley Burk and having her house shot up after the two got into an argument April 21 on Addison Street. Johnson, who is in the Washington County jail on assault charges, was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger, who set an additional $5,000 bond.


Escape charge: Dylan Houck, 22, of 206 Archer Lane, Washington, was charged Wednesday with escape by Washington police after he failed to return from work release earlier this year. Houck, who is in the Washington County jail, was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger, who set an additional $5,000 bond.


Drug charges: Joshua A. Mathews, 26, of 465 Donnan Ave., Washington, was charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver crack and an equipment violation stemming from a June 20 traffic stop, Washington police said. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.


Prescription drug theft: Melissa Byrd, 39, no address, will be charged with theft after Washington police said she stole prescription medication from an apartment at 20 Moore Ave. shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday.


Possession charges: Washington police said they plan to charge Carol DePaoli of 85 First St., Westland, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at Duncan Avenue and Third Street early Thursday morning. Police said they found crack and a glass pipe in the car during the traffic stop.
