Woman cited: Veronica Hodgson, 23, of Nemacolin, was cited by state police for disorderly conduct after she allegedly caused a public disturbance and was trespassing at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday at an unnamed location on Grandview Avenue, state police said.
Woman injured: A Waynesburg woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash about 8:30 a.m. Monday on Route 19, state police said. Belina Bela, 34, of Waynesburg was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., following the crash. She was in good condition Monday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said. Police said Bela was driving south when her Jeep Cherokee ran off the road and struck a tree. The Waynesburg-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company was called to free Bela from the vehicle. Police said Bela was not wearing a seat belt and suffered a leg injury.
Theft: Several pieces of equipment, not identified by police, were stolen from property on Sharpnack Hollow Road on Friday or Saturday, state police said. The stolen property is owned by Scott Fischer of Jefferson.
Theft: Six full five-gallon gasoline cans were stolen from 1 Greenwood Lane between June 20 and June 21, state police said. The property is owned by William Greenwood of Jefferson.
Man charged: James Allen Scott, 37, of 25 W. High St., Waynesburg, was arrested after he allegedly cut another man with a knife at 12:58 a.m. Sunday on Fruit Alley, Waynesburg police said. Police said Scott cut John Shriver in the arm during an argument in the alley. Shriver was treated by emergency personnel on scene and had to have stitches, police said. Scott told police he and Shriver were fighting. Scott said he had a knife and when Shriver went to punch him he raised his arm in self-defense and Shriver hit the open blade. Scott was arraigned before District Judge Lee Watson on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. He was placed in the Greene County jail on $15,000 bond and faces a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
