Police beat July 6
Arrested at stop: James Jonathan Cole, 38, of 141 Brook Ave., Canton, was arrested Thursday by state police after a traffic stop on Elcona Drive at Washington Estates, Canton. Police found Cole to be intoxicated with blood-alcohol content more than double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication. He also had a handgun but did not have permit to carry the weapon, police said. Cole was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, carrying a firearm without a license and several traffic violations. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $15,000 bond.
Hammer assault: Sheri Rhone, 46, of 1103 Lower Meadow Crest Ave., Charleroi, was arrested Thursday by Charleroi Regional police for allegedly hitting Amy Davoli with a hammer. Rhone reportedly confronted Davoli, who was cutting plastic ties off fence on her property. She then allegedly hit Davoli in the arm with a hammer. Rhone told police that Davoli stabbed her with a pair of scissors but witnesses refuted that story. Rhone was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. She was placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Tire cut: Brian Pierson, 340 Brigich Road, told Chartiers police Tuesday a tire was cut on his vehicle.
Bar cited: The operators of Jim’s Bar, 163-165 W. Main St., were cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enformcent for allegedly furnishng alcohol to a 19-year-old Jan. 30.
Casino arrest: Robert Hunter Jr., 26, of McHenry, Ill., was arrested Friday morning by state police at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino. He is accused of stealing $110 in casino chips from Paong G. Leung, who left the craps table to use the restroom. Hunter had been told by the dealer not to touch the other player’s chips. He tipped the dealer with $5 of the chips and walked away with the other $105. Hunter, while in the state police office, ripped papers off the wall and repeatedly kicked the bench. Hunter was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of theft of mislaid property and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Couple arrested: Robert J. Petek, 43, and Paula Petek, 45, both of 4195 Finleyville-Elrama Road, Union, were arrested Wednesday night by state police for allegedly assaulting each other in their home. Both were arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment before District Judge Robert Redlinger. They were placed in the Washington County jail on $5,000 percentage bond.
Faces drug charges: Helena D. Fischer, 36, of 805 Ewing St., Washington, was charged by the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. She is accused of selling 18 oxymorphine pills to a confidential informant Oct. 15, 2012, in Washington’s West End. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
