Picture pointedly perplexing

  • July 7, 2013

It’s obvious that what we have here in this week’s Mystery Photo is a prize-winning dog, a bird dog of some kind. What we’re in the dark about is who these men are, what the competition was and where it took place.

Our hunch is that the photo dates to the mid to late 1970s, but we can’t be sure of that.

The photo, found loose in the bottom of a filing cabinet at the Observer-Reporter, has no marking on the back, so it probably was never published in the newspaper.

If you think you can help us identify the dog and his friends, email Park Burroughs, retired executive editor, at pburroughs@observer-reporter.com, or call and leave a message for us along with your telephone number at 724-222-2200, extension 2400.

With a little luck and help from our readers, we hope to solve this mystery and publish our findings next Monday.
