CANTON

Woman assaulted: Robert C. Milligan II, 42, of Washington, is charged by state police with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct, court records show. Milligan is accused of holding a firearm to Emma L. Morgan’s head and striking her about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at 2585 Jefferson Ave., police stated in the affidavit. He is in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond set by District Judge Robert Redlinger.


CECIL

DUI accident: Mark D. Chedgy of McMurray was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a one-vehicle accident at 7:53 p.m. Thursday, township police said. Chedgy, 24, told police he was traveling east on Hahn Road when he lost control of his car and it went over an embankment. Police said Chedgy was found outside of the car, which rolled over and landed in about 3 to 4 feet of water. Cedgy refused medical treatment, police said. Police said he failed a field sobriety test and was taken to the North Strabane Township Police Department, where a breath test determined his blood-alcohol content was 0.184 percent. The state presumes intoxication at 0.08 percent.


ELLSWORTH

Pair charged: Ralph Allen Sr., 39, and Jennifer Buehl, 28, both of Ellsworth, are facing state police charges of harassment stemming from a fight about 12:20 a.m. Monday at 22 Walnut St., police said.


HANOVER

Fugitive nabbed: Township police said they helped the U.S. Marshals Service apprehend Melvin Hayes, 41, of Wellsburg, W.Va., at Burgettstown Florence Motel on Steubenville Pike about 10:30 p.m. Friday. He is in the Washington County jail without bond awaiting extradition to West Virginia, where he is wanted for a probation violation, court records show.


MONONGAHELA

Woman assaulted: Stephen V. Rura, 19, of Monongahela, is charged by city police with simple assault and harassment, accused of grabbing Ashley Coulter by the throat and striking her in the head about 12:30 p.m. Friday at 307 E. Railroad St., court records show. Rura is free on $5,000 set by District Judge Mark Wilson.


NORTH FRANKLIN

Theft case: Nikki Robinson, 28, of 649 Broad St., Washington, is facing a theft charge, accused by township police of stealing $70 from Shirley Filby while working for the woman as a caregiver Saturday on West Chestnut Street, court records show.


PETERS

Two-vehicle accident: One driver was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 4:54 p.m. Saturday on Washington Road southbound at the northern entrance to Old Oak Road, township police said. James Nene, 60, of Woodmire Drive, New Stanton, told police he was stopped for a red light at the intersection when a tractor-trailer struck his vehicle from behind. Matthew McCue, 35, of North Constant, Dawson, Ill., told police he also was southbound when he noticed the red light turn green, but he said Nene failed to move forward, and McCue’s rig struck Nene’s car. Nene complained of a knee injury and was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment. Three passengers in his vehicle were uninjured.


Driver injured: Sarita Taub told police she was traveling on Oakwood Road about 100 feet north of West McMurray Road at 2:19 p.m. July 2 when she apparently fell asleep, and her car hit a utility pole, township police said. Taub, 56, of 208 W. College St., Canonsburg, said she awakened just before striking the utility pole head-on. She was the only occupant of the car and was taken to St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon, for treatment. The hospital does not release patients’ conditions.


ROBINSON

Woman jailed: Raquel A. Ward, 43, of 8589 Roman Lane, Imperial, is charged by McDonald police with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, unlawful possession of a firearm as a felon and disorderly conduct, court records show. Police accuse Ward of twice firing a shotgun over the head of her boyfriend, Timothy Cagel, after setting fire to his belongings about 10:20 p.m. Friday at her residence. She is in the Washington County jail on $20,000 bond set by District Judge Robert Redlinger.


SOUTH STRABANE

Man jailed: Jared McClurg, 31, of 372 Pennsylvania Ave., Charleroi, is charged by township police with retail theft, receiving stolen property and trespassing, court records show. Police accuse him of stealing $162.51 worth of merchandise from a Walmart at Trinity Point this month and then entering the store about 1 p.m. Saturday after being told to never return to the business, the affidavit shows. He is in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Robert Redlinger.


Man charged: Ryan A. Tyler, 26, is charged by township police with trespassing over accusations he walked uninvited through an unlocked door into a residence on Wilmont Avenue about 7:30 p.m. Friday, court records show. Police said he left the house after being questioned by an occupant and later was apprehended on accusations he broke into vehicles on LeMoyne Avenue Extension in nearby East Washington, the affidavit indicates. Police in East Washington said they plan to charge him in a recent rash of thefts from parked vehicles in that borough. Tyler is free on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Robert Redlinger.


WASHINGTON

Hit-and-run: A car parked on Maple Terrace was struck by another car Friday evening. An unknown suspect attempted to repair part of the car door with two nails, but caused further damage.


Credit card stolen: A woman reported to city police that her credit card and an ankle bracelet were stolen from her purse at Hungry Jose’s, 227 S. Main St., Friday evening. Her friend also reported that she was missing $15. There are no suspects.


House vandalized: A man reported to city police that an unknown suspect on Friday evening threw rocks at his house on McCarrell Avenue, damaging the siding on the right side of his home.


DUI charge: Jamie Brown, 34, of 219 Bench Ave., Washington, will be charged by city police with driving under the influence of alcohol and violating a DUI-related suspension. Police responded to a call Saturday afternoon that Brown wrecked into a pole on Campbell Avenue. They said her BAC was 0.154 percent.


Cars damaged: An unknown suspect damaged the windows of three vehicles parked along West Railroad Street between Saturday and Monday. The vehicles are owned by Jefferson Auto.


Trespassing charge: Larry Young, 37, of 246 Tyler Ave., faces a trespassing charge for allegedly attempting to break into his neighbor’s home Sunday morning. Young’s neighbor, Richard Mounts, 79, of 244 Tyler Ave., told city police that Young sometimes showers and does laundry at his home. Young admitted that he broke into the home and lied about having a key to the house, according to police.
