Anne Eleanor Yolch Testa
Anne Eleanor Yolch Testa, 87, of Slovan, was taken home by her Lord Saturday, July 13, 2013, in the home of her daughter Valerie of Slovan.
Mrs. Testa was born October 27, 1925, in Moundsville, W.Va., a daughter of Alex and Mary Fatok Yolch.
She had attended Avella schools.
In the 1940s, she served as a Rosie the Riveter in Ambridge, where she helped make LSTs. Later in life, she worked as an occupational therapy aid at John J. Kane Regional centers.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Burgettstown, where she participated in the Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Italian Ladies Lodge of Slovan.
Mrs. Testa enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on vacations. She also enjoyed taking care of her pets.
Surviving are daughter Valerie of Slovan; sister Julia Yolch of Cherry Valley; numerous nieces and nephews; and good friend Cynthia McWreath.
Deceased are her husband Ernest Testa; brothers Andrew, John and Michael Yolch; and sisters Helen Mente and Mary Slomski.
Mrs. Testa had been in declining health for the past six years, the last three of which were spent with her loving daughter. She was also under the highly competent care of Washington Hospital Hospice and the loving care of friends Jackie Batson and Ann Wolanski.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, immediately followed by a blessing service with the Rev. George Moneck officiating. Other arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests donations may be made in her name to Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
