PITTSBURGH (AP) — Police in western Pennsylvania say an officer was fired upon while talking to someone at a Pittsburgh home.
The officer had responded to a call about the death of an elderly woman in the Homewood section of the city, and multiple family members had gathered inside the residence.
Police said the officer was standing in the doorway of the home when he saw a car pull up to the front of the residence, and someone inside fired four to six shots in the direction of the officer shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the officer pushed the person he was speaking with out of the line of fire. One person was treated for injuries from a fall to the ground. The officer was uninjured.
No arrests have been reported.
