Police beat July 19
Paraphernalia charge: Jamie Gerecke, 24, of 132 Smithfield St., Canonsburg, will be charged with possession of paraphernalia after 24 empty bags of suspected heroin and syringes were found in her home, Canonsburg police said. Washington County adult probation officers had gone to her home Tuesday for a check and notified police. She was placed in Washington County jail on a probation violation.
Wallets stolen: Patty Trevino, of 207 S. Central Ave., told Canonsburg police that her wallet was stolen from her vehicle Wednesday. William Gardner, of 225 Hooks Lane, told police Wednesday that his wallet was stolen from his vehicle over the weekend. One of his credit cards was used to make a $5,000 purchase at a Sam’s Club.
Amplifier stolen: Donald E. Soyka, of Imperial Drive, Canton, told state police Wednesday that a Pyramid American amplifier was stolen from his unlocked vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
Assault arrest: Alexandros Krotinis, 26, of 519 Highfield Ave., Chartiers, was charged by Chartiers police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly assaulting his wife Brooke Krotinis, during a confrontation at their home Wednesday afternoon. He is accused of punching her in the stomach and strangling her after the two argued about her work uniform. He was placed in Washington County jail on a probation detainer. Charges of simple assault and harassment were filed Thursday at the office of District Judge David Mark.
Wallet stolen: Terrence Gee, of 59 McConnells Mills Road, told Chartiers police Tuesday that his wallet and credit card holder containing $2,500 in gift cards as well as credit cards were stolen from his vehicle.
Checks stolen: checks were reported stolen Wednesday from Tarr Concrete, 45 Arden Road, Chartiers police said.
Woman jailed: Trisha Thorpe, 27, of 1562 Grange Road, Charleroi, is charged by borough police with possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a May 11 traffic stop in Donora Industrial Park in which three empty heroin stamp bags were confiscated, court records show. She is in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond after being arrested on a warrant and arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Mark Wilson.
Window broken: A brick was thrown through a window Tuesday at the home of D. Jenkins, Route 837 at Flinleyville-Elrama Road, Union, state police said.
Theft charges: East Washington police filed receiving stolen property and theft from a motor vehicle charges against Brendon Michael Retos, 30, of 103 LeMoyne Ave., for an incident in which property was stolen from two vehicles on the 200 block of North Washington Avenue Sunday. According to court documents, Retos admitted to East Washington police Chief Mark Griffith that he took items from one of the vehicles, including a mobile printer, a set of Zilla headphones and a $25 gift card. Police were led to Retos when a man allegedly purchased the printer from him and found business cards and other items that led him to believe the printer was stolen. He returned the printer to the original owner, who notified police. Items from both vehicles were worth an estimated $575. Police said Retos admitted to a drug addiction. Charges will be sent through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Vehicular theft: Breann Belcher told city police her vehicle was stolen from outside of her home on Highland Avenue between June 11 and June 15. She said she thought the car had been repossessed due to recovery letters she had received in the mail until she received traffic citations for an incident that occurred June 28.
