Assault, other charges: Scott Lee Ervin, 23, of 43 Woodside Drive, McDonald, was charged Monday by McDonald police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct stemming from a July 2 incident at 1829 Main St., Burgettstown. Ervin is accused of assaulting Laura Snatchko at her home after an argument over sleeping arrangements. He is accused of throwing things at her, lifting her up and slamming her on the floor. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Welding leads stolen: Jerry L. Rogers III of Stonewall, Miss., told state police Friday that a set of 75-foot welding leads were stolen from the back of his truck while parked at American Best Hotel, 1385 W. Chestnut, Canton. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
Window broken: Harry Moore, of 104 Third St., Franklin, Greene County, told state police that a vandal broke a window at his home Thursday.
Two charged in crash: Ronald Billeter Jr., 27, and Ian Hixenbaugh, 30, both of Beech Bottom, W.Va., were each charged by state police with careless driving stemming from a crash at 6:50 a.m. Thursday on Route 844 (Jefferson Avenue) near Wiedt Lane, Hopewell. State police said vehicles driven by both men were driving east on Route 844 when Hixenbaugh stopped his vehicle and was hit from behind by Billeter. The incident may have stemmed from a dispute between the two men. Neither man was injured.
Three charged: Kris Douglas Lowry, 41, of Coraopolis; John Musgrave, 19, of 67 Green St., Houston; and Shannon Ersek, 18, of 813 Wall St., McDonald, were all charged by McDonald police Tuesday with disorderly conduct stemming from an incident July 6 during McSummerfest.
Car jack stolen: Sherri Lynn Deveaney, of 222 N. McDonald St., told McDonald police July 12 that a car jack was stolen from her garage. The garage also was hit with shots fired from a pellet gun.
Rifle stolen: Barry J. Harter, of 118 E. Lincoln Ave, McDonald, told McDonald police Monday that his 16-inch rifle was stolen.
Harassment charge: Carl Moore, 54, of 2449 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was charged Wednesday by McDonald police with harassment for allegedly calling Lisa Dorsey, 504 North Ave., Midway, numerous times Saturday.
Account accessed: Patrick Cooper, of 107 S. Main St., Midway, told McDonald police July 14 that $30 was withdrawn from his bank account by a fraudulent check.
Charged in crash: Travis W. Wulf, 26, of Bentleyville, was charged Wednesday by state police with failure to drive at a safe speed and failure to drive on the right side of the road in connection with a July 4 crash on East National Pike west of Kinder Road, North Bethlehem. State police said he was riding his motorcycle west when he crossed into the eastbound lane and hit utility pole. Wulf was thrown 64 feet and found in the eastbound lane. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment. The charges will be sent from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Two charged: Kenneth R. Benard, 20, of 11 Robinson St., Oakdale, was charged Tuesday with disorderly conduct, and Justin Jay Luff, 19, of Imperial, was charged with disorderly conduct and underage drinking after a July 10 incident on Robinson Highway, Robinson. Benard had suspected marijuana. Luff, who had a marijuana pipe, also was drinking, police said.
ATV stolen: Vera Fay Clemens, of 553 Robinson Run Road, West Finley, told state police Saturday that her green, 2004 Suzuki Eiger all-terrain vehicle equipped with a snow plow in front was stolen from outside her home. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
