Assault charge: Michael Caldwell, 26, of 302 Old West Road, Bentleyville, was charged Tuesday with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct for allegedly assaulting Lori Ann Fike, 52, of 2806 Main St., Beallsville, during a confrontation at his home July 13, Southwest Regional police said. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
One injured: Joshua Novotny, 424 S. Market St., Carmichaels, was injured Tuesday when his vehicle crossed Dally Road and hit a vehicle driven by John Wolfe Sr., 417 Shady Ave., Charleroi. California police said Novotny was driving north when he went off the road, overcorrected and then crossed into the soutbound lane. Novotny was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital.
Man charged: Dorian C. Jeri-Greene, 27, of 610 Sheridan St., Monongahela, is charged by city police with selling obscene sexual materials, harassment and disorderly conduct, court records show. He is accused of sending nude photos of his former girlfriend, Violet Sarver, to her over the phone July 8, and also threatening to send video of her, the affidavit states. Jeri-Greene is free on $10,000 bond set Monday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Public Drunkenness: David R. Worobec, 53, and Shelly Ann Kelly, 53, both of 355 Bedillion Road, Washington, were charged by North Franklin police with public drunkenness, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct after they allegedly were found Saturday muddy and intoxicated coming out of a wooded area at the Ramada Inn, 1170 W. Chestnut St., North Franklin police said. Police said they found a cooler, bags of food, clothing and a tent. While waiting for a ride, police said Kelly faked a seizure and Worobec created a disturbance. When he was placed in the police car, he reportedly started banging his head off the window and screaming. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Items stolen: Steve Holbrook of Camden Gauley, W.Va., told North Franklin police Friday that a fan, cable and lock were stolen from the back of his pickup truck while it was parked at Days Inn, West Chestnut Street.
Door kicked in: Brandon and Iesha Miller of 3015 Wilson St. told North Franklin police that their basement door was kicked in, but nothing appears to be missing from the home.
Emblem stolen: Timothy Hughes of 250 E. Buffalo Church Road, Washington, told North Franklin police Wednesday that a Ford emblem, valve stem and center hubcap were stolen from his pickup truck while it was parked at Washington Crown Center.
Business burglarized: TJ’s Deli, Washington Road, was burglarized early Tuesday, North Strabane police said. A window was broken and Newport cigarettes were stolen.
Two-vehicle crash: Six people, including three children ranging in age from four months to 6 years, were injured Saturday afternoon in a crash at the intersection of Brownlee Road and Route 136, Somerset. A vehicle driven by Jessica Jurcevich, 22, of North Strabane Township, reportedly pulled into the path of a westbound sport utility vehicle driven by Peter Mansmann of Eighty Four. Mansmann’s vehicle overturned several times. Passengers in his vehicle included his wife, Sarah, and three children. The accident was handled by state police.
Wiring stolen: Seven hundred feet of copper electrical wiring was stolen from the construction site of the Hampton Inn, Hickory Grade Road, between July 3 and 8, township police said. No estimate of value was given. The theft was reported at 2:30 p.m. July 13.
Theft of tools: Numerous tools, valued at $10,000, were stolen from a business in the 700 block of Millers Run Road between July 8 and 16, township police said. The theft was reported at 7 a.m. July 16.
Batteries stolen: Sixteen vehicles were entered and 31 truck batteries were removed from a business in the 700 block of Millers Run Road July 17 or 18, township police said. The batteries were valued at $3,100. The theft was reported at 7:20 a.m. July 18.
Card, prescription stolen: Courtney Pittman of Coraopolis told South Strabane police Sunday that her Macy’s credit card and prescription medication were stolen from her vehicle while she was working at Humbert Lane Personal Care Home.
One injured: One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday night on Washington Road at Trinity Point, South Strabane police said. Vehicles driven by Stacey DeMarchi, 31, of Bridgeville, and Jack Dingle, 39, of 3 Pike View Drive, Richeyville, collided. A passenger in Dingle’s vehicle, Tyffani Dingle, 39, was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Police said DeMarchi will be cited for a red-light violation.
Money stolen: William Smith and Janice Brisco of 69 Stone Church Road, Union, told Southwest Regional police Monday that money and a bag of coins were stolen from their home. A man in a white pickup truck was seen in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-929-8484.
Drug charges: Gary D. Wells, 46, of 1090 Michigan Ave., Washington, was charged by state police with possession of cocaine and paraphernalia and false identification stemming from a traffic stop Sept. 1, 2012, on Jefferson Avenue at Oakland Street, Washington. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
