BUFFALO

Criminal mischief: State police said mostly coins were stolen from more than 20 vehicles broken into while they were parked Wednesday and Thursday along Route 40. Anyone with information about the crimes is urged to call Trooper Jeff Tihey at 724-223-5200.


CALIFORNIA

Charged at traffic stop: Joshua A. Schaefer, 24, of 51 Fifth St., California, is charged by borough police with providing a false identification to law enforcement, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct stemming from a traffic stop at 7:30 p.m. Thursday on Third Street at Rotary Park. He is in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Ethan Ward.


DONORA

Woman assaulted: Edward C. Locker, 52, of 501 McKean Ave., Donora, is charged by borough police with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment, court records show. Police accuse Locker of striking Tracy Yates in the arm and leg with a baseball bat about 7 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Meldon Ave. He is free on $10,000 bond set by District Judge Ethan Ward.


McDONALD

Man jailed: Michael J. Sweetie Sr., 45, of Johnston St., McDonald, is charged by borough police with simple assault, harassment and reckless endangerment, court records show. Police accused him Tuesday of choking Dawn Donaldson after becoming enraged at his residence upon tripping on a gate, the record shows. He is in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond after being arrested on a warrant and arraigned Thursday before District Judge Ethan Ward.


SOUTH FAYETTE

Theft reported: A steel clamp and steel bearing plates, valued at $13,000, were stolen from a business in the 700 block of Millers Run Road, township police said. The theft was reported at 8:40 p.m. Thursday.


Vehicles stolen: A trailer and two snowmobiles were stolen from a business in the 3100 block of Washington Pike, township police said. The total value of the items is $2,000. The theft was reported at 1:45 p.m. Thursday.


Gun stolen: A Glock .22-caliber pistol, valued at $600, was stolen from a residence on Laurel Ridge, township police said. The theft was reported Monday.
