Police beat July 30
PFA arrest: Christopher Scott Smith, 33, of Waynesburg was arrested Saturday after police were called to 152 Wayne Village, where he was staying with Megan Jo Arbogast, 32, of Waynesburg. Police said Smith has an active protection-from-abuse order against him issued by the court. He was arrested and placed in Greene County jail pending arraignment.
Pistol stolen: A Springfield Armory .45-caliber pistol was stole July 15 from the vehicle of Don Aaron Lemley, 43, of Waynesburg while the vehicle was parked on Waterdam Road, state police said.
Vehicle burned: A 2002 Ford Explorer that was reported stolen was found burned at the State Game Lands rifle range, state police said. The vehicle, owned by Calvin J. Smitley of Waynesburg, was stolen about 6:30 a.m. July 14 and recovered at 5:44 p.m. July 15, police said.
Theft: A 2007 Yamaha Grizzly 700 all-terrain vehicle was stolen between 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday from a house on Old Dairy Road. The ATV, owned by Jill Rankin of Bobtown and Hollis Rankin of Dilliner, is silver and has oversized tires and pewter wheels. Welding leads belonging to Hollis Rankin also were stolen from the property, police said.
ATV stolen: Several items were stolen from the residence of Jerry and Linda Kois on Old Dairy Road between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday, state police said. Unnamed items were stolen from the basement of the house and from the Kois’ pickup truck, police said. An ATV, which the thieves attempted to steal, also was damaged.
Burglary: Power tools and other items were stolen from a shed and a car at the home of Catherine and Lori Ann Kois on Old Dairy Road between 8 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday, state police said.
Burglary: Unnamed items were stolen from a garage and from several vehicle at the home of Maria and Joseph Zieglar on Old Dairy Road between 10 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, state police said.
Theft: A computer control for a bank mower was stolen from a vehicle on Dunn School Road between July 16 and July 23, state police said. The victim was not identified by police.
Man arrested: State police arrested Harold Robert Wise II, 43, of 147 Pigeon Run Road, New Freeport after he allegedly shot at a man three times at 11:19 a.m. Saturday on Pigeon Run Road. Daniel Lee Debolt, 27, of Waynesburg, told police Wise shot at him as he was walking along the road. Wise was in his house when police arrived. Police said they attempted to speak with Wise and get him to leave his residence by using a public address system but he refused to come out. After about three hours, Wise left the home and was taken into custody. Wise was arraigned before District Judge Louis Dayich on charges of simple assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct. He was released on $10,000 bond and faces a preliminary hearing on Aug. 6
