CANONSBURG

Faces DUI charge: Caleb Lee Sams, 27, of 220 Ketchum Court, Canonsburg, will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after his pickup truck sideswiped a parked car in the parking lot of his apartment complex about 4:20 a.m. Friday. Canonsburg police found Sams lying in the grass next to the lot. The truck was turned off, but was still in gear with the keys in the ignition. Police said his blood-alcohol level was almost four times the 0.08 limit presumed for intoxication.


SOMERSET

Copper wire stolen: State police said 600 feet of copper mining wire was reported stolen Thursday from the former Consol Energy Mine 84, 860 Vanceville Road, Somerset.


WASHINGTON

Paraphernalia charge: Lawrence A. Bogo of Washington and Jason M. Midler of Avella were each charged Friday by state police with possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a June 4 traffic stop on East Wylie Avenue, Washington. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.


Trespass charge: Robert J. Braun II, 39, who Washington police said is homeless, was arraigned via video Friday on a charge of criminal trespass after he was found July 15 sleeping inside a junk car parked on fenced property in the 300 block of Meadow Avenue. Braun, who is in Washington County jail on a probation detainer, was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger who set bond at $5,000 percentage.


Theft, receiving charges: James R. Sickles III, 40, of 6 Lewis Ave., Washington, was charged Friday by Washington police with theft and receiving stolen property. He is accused of stealing a Craftsman six-drawer tool chest and tools from his father, James Sickles Jr., on June 27. Sickles, who is in Washington County jail on a detainer, was arraigned via video before District Judge Robert Redlinger, who set a $10,000 percentage bond.


Escapee charged: William J. Bonus, 42, of Cambridge Springs, was arraigned Friday on an escape charge after allegedly being on the lam from Washington County jail for more than nine years after failing to return from work release. He was apprehended in Crawford County and returned to Washington County. Bonus was arraigned on the escape charge filed by a Washington County sheriff’s deputy. District Judge Robert Redlinger set bond at $2,500.


Receiving, traffic charges: Robert A. Westfall Jr., 28, of 278 Buffalo Ridge Road, Washington, was arraigned Friday on charges of receiving stolen property and several traffic violations stemming from a May 28 traffic stop in the 700 block of Ewing Street. Washington police found five stolen guns and a stolen silver bracelet in his vehicle. Westfall, who is currently in Washington County jail on other charges, was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger, who set bond at $10,000.


Arraigned in assault: Eric Spencer, 43, of 54 Seminole Ave., Washington, was arraigned Friday on a charge of aggravated assault. He is accused of punching Michael Wise in the face and then stomping on him when he fell to the floor inside LA’s Sports Grille, 427 E. Maiden St., on July 4. Wise suffered a broken arm and injuries to his mouth, according to court records. Spencer, who was in Washington County jail on a detainer, was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger, who set bond at $10,000.
