Coal Show traffic restrictions

CARMICHAELS – Carmichaels Borough announced the schedule of traffic restrictions for next week’s Pennsylvania Bituminous Coal Show.

Carmichaels town square will be closed from 6 to 6:45 p.m. both Wednesday for the Pet Parade and Thursday for the Bicycle Parade.

The Coal Show parade will be held Aug. 24. Residents are asked not to place any chairs along the parade route until the morning of the parade.

No parking will be permitted along the parade route after 2 p.m. the day of the parade and no parking will be permitted in town square after 1 p.m.

Any vehicle blocking the parade route after these times will be towed.

On parade day, police will be stopping traffic from entering the town about 3:45 p.m.

The borough also announced that a memorial service will be held at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 11 in town square. The memorial is organized by Mary Lewis, Greene County deputy coroner and former borough secretary.
