Fort Vance Historical Society is seeking volunteers to help collect articles from old newspapers. The group will meet on Wednesdays through November in theBurgettstown Community Library’s meeting room. Spidermania will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mingo Creek County Park, Route 136, Shelter 4. California University of Pennsylvania professor Dr. Chad Hanna will search, capture and identify arachnids found in fields and forests of the park. Long pants, long-sleeved shirts and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Registration is required; call Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation at 724-228-6867.

Washington Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a uniform, shoe and accessory sale from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 23 in the community room at Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Ave.

A rummage sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 23 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 24 at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 601 Boone Ave., Canonsburg. For more information, call 724-263-5605.
