Burgettstown library receives grant

Burgettstown Community Library received a $15,000 grant from the Remmel Foundation through the PNC Charitable Trust Grant Review Committee.

The grant enables the library and the Fort Vance Historical Society to make the society’s historical relics and archival materials available to the public in a room provided by the library.

The library has been home to the Fort Vance Historical Society since its inception in 1969; however, its holdings were not available to the public.

With the grant funding and the assistance of community volunteers and students from the Burgettstown Area School District, the historical materials will be made available for historical research and genealogical research.
