Decorated Army veteran
Charles “Yogi” Yeager, 78, Carmichaels, died Friday, August 30, 2013, in Kane Regional Center, Pittsburgh.
He was born September 2, 1934, in Waynesburg, the son of the late Jesse and Mildred Chaney Yeager.
On October 21, 1955, he married Sonia Varesko, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Patricia Yeager (Steve Rhome); a grandson, Michael J. Yeager; and three great-grandchildren, Hayden Michael Yeager, Dana Patterson (Larry) and Haley Patterson.
Mr. Yeager was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He worked as a farmer and a coal miner at Nemacolin Mine and retired from R.G. Johnson Co. mine shaft construction.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, in Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320, 724-966-5100, Paul M. Lesako, director/supervisor, where a memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Sowden officiating.
