Police beat Sept. 3
Man arrested: Steven Paul Miller, 37, of Washington, was arrested Sunday by state police for allegedly violating a protection-from-abuse order obtained by his former girlfriend. The Canton woman, who was not identified by police, said he went to her home at 756 Findlay St., screamed at her, grabbed her leg and threw her on a bed. He fled before police arrived but was later apprehended. Miller was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis on the violation and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
Public drunkenness charge: Phillip Yagnich, 51, of Washington, was charged with public drunkenness by state police after he was found passed out, intoxicated, along Route 40 near Weirich Avenue, Canton, just after 8 p.m. Sunday.
Open lewdness charge: Frederick G. White of Scott Township, Allegheny County, was charged by state police with open lewdness after a Burgettstown man, riding his mountain bike on Knowlton Road at Hillman State Park, Hanover, Thursday morning spotted White walking naked on a trail. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Generator stolen: Robert Wright, of 42 Reed Lane, Hanover, told state police Sunday afternoon that a generator was stolen from his unlocked garage.
Harassment charges: Brandon W. Thomas, 18, of Prosperity, and Victor L. Kover, 35, of Washington, will each be charged with harassment after a dispute Saturday at 990 S Bridge Road, South Franklin, state police said. Charges will be sent from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
