Billhimer named president of MTR Gaming

CHESTER, W.Va. (AP) – MTR Gaming Inc. has named Joseph L. Billhimer as its president.

Billhimer had served as acting president since late May. He will continue to also serve as the Chester-based company’s chief operating officer.

MTR Gaming said Monday that Billhimer’s appointment is effective immediately.

MTR Gaming Group chairman Steven M. Billick said in a news release that Billhimer has been a major factor in the company’s improved performance over the past few years.

Billhimer joined MTR Gaming in 2011.

MTR owns Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in Chester, Scioto Downs in Columbus, Ohio, and Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Erie.
